Still no word- SFA silent on Celtic penalty claims

With the furious statements from Ibrox on hold the SFA have been given notice of the reactions they can expect from any perceived mistakes from match referees.

Fury is at boiling point among Ibrox fans and Directors, next Tuesday the SFA will announce the match officials for matches away to Dumbarton and Hibs with Steven McLean, Alan Muir, David Dickinson and John Beaton expected to defuse tensions. Having Andrew Dallas and Greg Aitken on VAR should completely eliminate the chances of further statements.

Across the city there hasn’t been a peep out of Celtic about not being awarded a penalty when James Tavernier wiped out David Turnbull in the same match. Compounding the issue assistant Callum Spence flagged for a non-offside, the same assistant who refused to flag Abdallah Sima being offside in the build up to the Alistair Johnston handball.

It is hardly a surprise that Celtic have been sitting quietly at the back of the bus, the last time they went public about a referee was in January 2019 after an incredible performance by Beaton at Ibrox.

Celtic waited six days to question that performance, after tea and biscuits with Ian Maxwell and a refresher on the events of July 2012 Peter Lawwell never said another word.

The Turnbull penalty claim wasn’t Celtic’s first of the season in the Glasgow Derby, back in September Kyogo Furuhashi was pushed by Jack Butland and Connor Goldson following a shot from Daizen Maeda.

Neither Don Robertson or Muir on VAR duty bothered with the incident, typically there wasn’t a word of complaint from Celtic where Lawwell and Nicholson think that it is top banter to crack jokes about the horrendous standard of Scottish referees.

No Scottish referees are expected to be involved in the European Championships in Germany despite the lobbying of disgraced former SFA chief Hugh Dallas.

You’re a 100% correct . They are ALL masons ( the Celtic plc too ) which makes it worse . We all , in unison , need to starve them of money . We’ll never do it . Fans are so fickle . It’s the only way we’ll get change.

Oh I starve them of ma money through the turnstiles Martin…

And I have done since Doncaster emphatically stated that ‘Rangers’ (his word and not mine) were the same club – ABSOLUTELY –

And Celtic said nothing – Na Da – nothing… Not even Ssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !

PL – and Nicholson – have to explain to the long suffering support

as to why they have CHOSEN not to complain to the SFA about

    the standard of match officiating.

And if sevco can complain publicly without any repercussions from the SFA,

then we should be doing the same.
