The likely signing of Adam Idah seems to have pushed many Celtic fans over the edge.
After a disastrous summer transfer window that left the First XI and squad seriously weakened Brendan Rodgers made it very clear that the squad needed an infusion of quality while shifting out the deadwood- mainly recruited over the last three transfer windows.
Under no stretch can a soon to be 23-year-old with 16 goals at club level be considered as either quality or ready to go straight into the Celtic first team.
Following Tuesday’s timeline it seems that if it wasn’t for Norwich moving for Sydney van Hooijdonk then Idah wouldn’t be Celtic bound.
Being entirely cynical, based on the Carl Starfelt and Gus Lagerbielke situation during the summer, it could well be the case that with van Hooijdonk on his way to Norwich his agent put two and two together to set the wheels in motion for the displaced striker at Carrow Road to be on the move to Celtic.
Think it is clear to most that major changes are needed at the club in order to move forward.
The removal of those with the surname Lawwell would be a welcome start followed by board members who have been far too comfortable for far too long.

After Ange Postecoglou blew apart all the cliches associated with the January transfer window there is no hiding back for the Celtic hierarchy. You can sign quality players, it can be done before the final days of the transfer window.
On 31 December 2021 Postecoglou presented the club with Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuki Ideguchi. Two out of three ain’t bad, topped up by Matt O’Riley’s Man of the Match debut in the win over Hearts on January 26. After a week training with his new club.
With Hatate at the club for a month and O’Riley having two games under his belt Celtic won the Glasgow Derby on February 2, they moved into top place in the SPFL Premiership and have remained there ever since.
Last season Alistair Johnston made his debut on January 2 at Ibrox, he took to the fixture like a natural as Celtic preserved their nine point lead over the Micky Beale Revolution.
Postecoglou turned the club around with two transfer windows in season 2021/22 but in May 2022 Celtic announced the appointment of mystery man Mark Lawwell as Head of Scouting and Recruitment, he started work on July 1.
Six months later Peter officially took over as Chairman, at a company where he had overseen every appointment in the previous 17 years, he had groomed Michael Silent Nicholson for the CEO role to follow the temporary appointment of Dom McKay.
Online the Celtic support is very angry, the mindset of Rodgers can only be guessed at following his Mallorca discussions with Nicholson and Finance Chief Chris McKay.
Peter Lawwell was on holiday in Portugal when fans let rip at his family during the 2-0 home defeat from Hearts.
If the SPFL Premiership title slips away there will be no hiding place for the Lawwell’s and their boardroom chums with Season Ticket holders no longer kept at arms length watching a car crash unfold inside an empty stadium.
Increasingly obvious to me, the Lawell’s are the Glazers of Celtic, zero care for the paying customers, only concern is the dividends. Small investment for maximum return, that’s their strategy, and it’s perfect for the major shareholders.

If that’s are limit , bring a Norwich striker in on loan , then could you blame Rodgers for walking away ? The board need kicked off of Celtic park ASAP ,they are going to ruin this league title

Desmond needs to sell up. The fella has zero interest in us and is turning into a White/Kelly version 2. When did he last invest anything in the Club??
— James McErlean (@jamesmcerlean12) January 30, 2024
Deliberate underfunding of the team to ensure we get nowhere near 10iar again to keep the blue£££ alive and well. The board are like arms dealers selling to both sides in a conflict. Sacrifice the league every 3-4 seasons to keep the Huns relevant and us buying ST’s.

Out with the old guard and their outdated strategies, in with a progressive forward thinking youthful board. Change won’t happen unless we force it.
— Buildo (@buildo_) January 30, 2024
If we lose the title this season having hoarded £70m in the bank then the board have to go
— Mark Nicholas (@joydivision61_h) January 30, 2024
Can’t see DD or PL going anywhere unfortunately. They have no incentive to give up their positions and I doubt they could be shamed into it by fan protests. Hope I’m wrong.

Another character who responds to all our tweets batting for the board. How do you know it’s not most fans? Unbelievably we speak to people outside of Twitter about the board. You strike me as the kind of person who backed Lennon and Lawwell when they watched Beale and Gerrard go…
— 4 Tims and a Podcast (@PodTims) January 30, 2024
there has never been a group of people assembled who knew less about football than the charlatan accountants playing FM irl with Celtic
two bob accountants and lawyers, ancient tory bastarts who have achieved nothing in the 21st century
— Richard Pullen (@pullenallsorts) January 30, 2024
This is embarrassing.
Lawwell senior overstayed his welcome by 17 years. All the dross that he bought during those years I will not forget now his son is doing the same. Both lawwells out along with those other charlatan’s on the board .I really can’t see why Brendan Rodgers came back as he won everything in his first stint
This January window was an opportunity
to galvanise the squad, the supporters, the club
with a few exciting, welcomed signings, [even loanees],
who could give the place a buzz and a boost for the
second half of the season.
Yet…
the Board prefers to build on the frustration, disappointment, mistrust
it created with the awful summer transfer window!
🙁
Unless BR was deliberately misled…then he has nowhere to go with this debacle…Oh…unless he does what I did..And that is…Tell them to shove it and leave…This is beyond a joke.
If he was deliberately misled then why is he not telling the supporters which would bring it to a head and then Desmond would have to get rid of the Liewells or Rodgers or face a massive supporter backlash.
Failed accountant Lawwell and his Man City tea boy son are running the show and there’s fuck all anyone can do about it.
If you were sevco directors you couldn’t believe your luck.
We need them out our club . The only way is no buying season tickets , or merchandise . NONE . It wouldn’t take desmond long to sell up . We , the supporters have the power to get them out .
I’m not sure Rodgers is totally innocent in all this shambles,he knew from his last stint what he was up against, did Desmond and liewell just tell him a lot pish that he wanted to hear and he swallowed it hook line and sinker, mind you £3 million helps the pain of being taken for a patsy. The only way to rid the club of desmond, liewells and the board is , boycott matches, walk outs ,stop buying STs and merchandise, harsh as this seems it’s the only thing these multi millionaire rats on the board understand, cutting off their oxygen ie money.
It won’t happen Jim…Too many “”Faithful through and through ”
“eejits ” to contend with…and the Board knows it….The best you’ll get is banners and chants….If that !!
That’s exactly the problem, and this board know it,but until we do something drastic this desmond and liewell dynasty will go on for years,I sometimes hope we lose the lot sevco in the hope it will galvanise the fans into taking really strong action, not just a few flags and banners showing our displeasure but real forceful action.
No matter how dark it gets Jim…I can’t bring myself to wish we lose to Sevco.
I hate when we lose a corner to them !!!
But its good to know that Mr. Desmond takes it seriously.
Feckin’ waste of space.
Yes your right Terence ,we can’t stand sevco winning anything and I hope they don’t win anything again,I was just so frustrated with the inaction of Rodgers and the board, they all must see the danger if sevco do win the league and get CL riches ,they will spend the lot just to make sure we never catch up with them again, because if they win 1 and get CL money I can see them being ahead of us for years, that’s what annoys me ,all the fans can see the danger of losing the league this year, surely the board can see it as well,or do they want sevco to win?
That story in the Record this morning about Hatate coming back from the Asia cup as a new signing
Did Pete chuck the author the 100 pound he uses as a hanky to come up with that
Deary me
It’ll be lies if it’s a in That Rag of Evil Fabrication Harold !
He’s out injured isn’t he ? about sums us up.
All they had to do was make at least two quality signings
Would’ve got the fans off their back for a while
Excited the fans
Shut the media up
Made the squad better , gave the players a jolt and a jee up
They’ve absolutely f*cked it beyond belief
Got to agree with you there Harold,I didn’t think it could ever get as bad as this but hey, this is liewell and the Celtic board were talking about and what’s the big Irish billionaire doing about this ,fuck all as usual apart from pocketing money him and liewell.
Fergus saved the day and swept the dinosaurs out the door at the same time.
He must be looking on in total disbelief the club has returned to the closed shop days that almost Sevco’d them.
It now looks like the story and the assurances supposedly given to supporters regarding Rodgers return were a pack of lies and now seems Rodgers is just another one to join the clubs gravy train with the other useless directors, quality players my a***.
Apt Headline “The Glazers of Celtic”
That produced the fragile glass…
Hatate – CCV – Abada – Nawrocki – Tillo – Johnston – Taylor –
Predictions on who the fcuk is the next runt to splinter…
Our medical assessors need a right fcukin jag in the arse to wakeboard them out of their slumber and while they get it leave enough to waken up Brendan, Sonny Lawwell, Daddy Lawwell and The Scottish Lord Lucan Micheal Nicholson while they’re at it and get them all out of their coma’s. !
As long as we fund their dividends, the board will keep taking the piss.
The Board have ensured the loss of the title with an obvious managed decline policy- the question is why ?
Is there some kind of Kompromat scenario involving Lawwell ? Is the Boys Club PR disaster with a very heavy settlement possibly coming soon terrifying the Board ? Since the arrival of Clement the Rangers threat has been steadily growing and the window that has just closed hasn’t really improved Celtic significantly.
Perhaps we could negotiate the two CL quali rounds if there is serious investment in the next few months ? I think there is a grave danger of the season imploding and a disgusted Rogers leaving.
This Board have to be removed otherwise we could be in their shadow for years.
