Ian Maxwell has extended Willie Collum’s ban from being involved in matches involving Philippe Clement’s team.
After the Lanarkshire based official was on VAR duty at the Glasgow Derby on December 30 the Ibrox club released a furious campaign against Collum, finally telling media partners Heart & Hand that they’d requested that he no longer is involved in their matches.
On Saturday Livingston visit Ibrox with John Beaton in charge for the second time in 2024. Callum Scott and David Munro will on Fourth Official and VAR duty.
Three days later Aberdeen visit Ibrox with Don Robertson refereeing while Colin Steven and Greg Aitken take up the other roles.
In four SPFL matches since the order went out on Collum Maxwell has complied with 12 different officials on duty but not the referee who represented Scotland at the 2016 European Championships.
On Saturday Collum will referee the match between Hibs and St Mirren, four days later he will be on VAR duty for the fixture between Kilmarnock and Livingston, well away from the anger of Clement and his club’s fan media outlets.
The next round of appointments is for the Scottish Cup, a home tie against Ayr United would be the easiest fixture to reinstate Collum if Maxwell is to disobey instructions.
The game in Scotland is well and truly fcuked and fcuked it is on an industrial scale…
