Two of the top talents in the current England squad have acknowledged Joe Hart’s decision to retire at the end of this season.

Turning 37 in April the keeper has made a huge impression on Celtic and seems to have been well liked at clubs throughout his career.

Back in season 2017/18 Hart was on loan at West Ham where Rice was trying to break into the first team- while also moving through the international ranks for Ireland.

Clearly out of favour at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola having spent the previous season on loan with Torino the keeper made 19 EPL appearances at the London Stadium while making an impact on West Ham’s promising young midfielder.

Fodan was an 11-year-old City fan when Hart played his part in their first EPL title triumph which culminated with the dramatic stoppage time winner delivered by Sergio Aguero, now Foden has five of those gongs with Hart a famous part of the side that made the breakthrough in 2012.

Plenty of Hart’s past and present Celtic team mates joined in the congratulations but Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic Recruitment Department now has the difficult task of finding a successor to the retiring legend.

Big Joe a lovely big guy , well liked and very popular and a very good goalkeeper especially in his prime, well done Joe , happy retirement, thanks for everything.

As good a £1 million buy as you could get in the modern game.
I wish him all the best.
But I would like to use this thread to ask if anyone knows why Siegrist is not rated. ?
When we bought him I thought he was a very good keeper…but for some strange reason he is not quoted now.
I asked someone who works at Celtic Park the question…but he was very non-committal.
My mate reckons its his “off field ” attitude and behaviour that’s not good.
    Anybody know ?

A pleasure to watch and by all accounts an all-round good guy. Thanks for everything you brought to Celtic Joe and Very Best Wishes for your future, wherever that may be.
Thanks to Big Ange for seeing the opportunity and talking Big Joe into coming to Paradise. The club’s supporters already miss one of you and will soon miss both of you. There’s no substitute for class and both of you have it in spades.
As for succession planning? What have you got Lawwell x 2? Let’s start with the FACT that the elder has no class whatsoever and the younger was brought in despite being seriously under-qualified. A fukkin disgrace x 2 whilst running a PLC like a wee private company with Desmond as much to blame as anyone. Jesus Christ, you guys make me ill but I don’t throw the towel in easily. I just need some corroboration and some help and I think I can submit a case that the above traitors will have trouble answering.

Wee bit of useless info…If you try to post an Emoji…it comes up as a question mark.

  • harold shand says:

As I type this out , Peter Lawwell is briefing his media monkeys on how to do articles explaining why Scott Bain will be a ready and able replacement for Joe Hart

  • Tyrone9 says:

I hope the dressing room will gain some solidarity and go about winning the league for Joe, ( above and beyond the usual, incentives objectives and bonuses.)
I ve read that there’s a lot of football still to be played, but surely winning the next 12 is not an too much to ask, esp with the right motivation, tactics and attitude….Aitken, Bertie, Henrik and others didnt even like losing in training.

January transfer window should have cemented the title btw.

    Let’s face it. No, really!
Joe was always prone to a costly mistake, LOL, and he only kept the England jersey off of Fraser Forster – because Forster played for a Scottish Club – or Celtic in particular!
That was never going to wash with the Engish football entitled!
That sentiment was expressed precisely when a guy who played at Celtic at the time, named Leigh Griffiths, put two shots past Joe in the England goal at Hampden, much to the dismay of the England goalie and the English football fans at home as well!
Yes, good luck to Joe in his retirement. If my pension values were as valuable as his were at thirty-eigt, then jolly good luck!
    No hard feelings, Joe!

  • t says:

What Foden and Rice say don’t wash!
One is a POME arse-licker and the other is a pug who could have played for the ROI but instead chose to be a POME arse-licker instead!
So just what are we supposed to think when Foden and Rice decide to utilise their verbal capacities?
That their brains are all in their feet; so when they open their gobs, better just steer clear!
