Celtic had a few heroes in action against St Mirren with Joe Hart as influential as any of his outfield colleague.

The goalkeeper may be into the final months of his Celtic contract but there are no signs of winding down or protecting himself for whatever happens next in his illustrious career.

Hart had stood up well to the attacks from Hibs in midweek, the stakes were higher yesterday against St Mirren with a six yard box that resembled a sand pit in places an additional obstacle for the ‘keeper.

St Mirren tested him with some early corners right into the crowded goalmouth but found the Celtic keeper responding with the safety first policy of authoritative punches out of harms way.

His outstanding moment came close to half time, Alex Gogic manoeuvred into position from a free kick and sent his effort towards Hart’s right hand corner.

The keeper anticipated it, got down to block then scooped a possible rebound out of harms way. He enjoyed it so much he shared it on Instagram.

Last season Hart completed his Scottish medal collection by adding the Scottish Cup to two SPFL and League Cup winners medals.

With Livingston at home in the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup Hart is on course for Hampden again and the chance of further medals to add to his unique collection.
