Two years ago Celtic were basking in the joy of reaching top place in the SPFL Premiership, turning around a six point deficit with a dominating win in the Glasgow Derby with the January signings of Ange Postecoglou giving the team fresh life.

Thirteen months ago the toxic presence of Peter Lawwell officially returned to Celtic, voted in as Chairman by his ageing cronies after the empty suit that was Ian Bankier stepped down.

On Wednesday night Celtic will almost kick-off against Hibs sitting in second place in the Premiership, behind a 2012 Tribute Act that was so awful they sacked their manager following three defeats in their first seven SPFL matches and a Champions League humiliation in Eindhoven.

It hasn’t taken Lawwell long to dismantle the progress made by Ange Postecoglou and Dom McKay, now he even has his son helping to maintain his cherished O** F*** rivalry.

With a former Clydeport bean-counter and the Information and Content Manager from the City Football Group steering the ship Celtic are on course to hand the SPFL Premiership title over to a club with three trophy wins in their 11 and a half year existence.

The consequences of four horrendous transfer windows were on display at Pittodrie today as Celtic drew with manager-less Aberdeen, a club sitting in eighth place with six wins to their name this season.

Callum McGregor and the signings from Ange Postecoglou’s first two transfer windows can only do so much when they are surrounded by mediocrity, players that would slot in without being noticed at any bottom six SPFL club.

The arrogance that starving the team of quality and investment would still result in domestic success is now being put to the test and it doesn’t look like succeeding against a squad assembled by Micky Beale.

Celtic fans will have to wait a fortnight for the chance to express their views about the chairman, the invisible CEO and the directors such as Brian Wilson, Tom Allison and Sharon Brown who know how to claim expenses but wouldn’t recognise a footballer in a million years.

Three years ago the anger of the peasant/customers was contained to social media and shouting at a shoddy stream. When Kilmarnock visit Celtic Park on February 17 looking for their third win this season over the hoops the protests will be very vocal and visual.

As it stands at the moment there is not a lot of good feeling about the up and coming away games, even if they get point(s) there is far to much flat about the club and the team,if the present board carry on on this vein it’s only going to be one outcome, and with the bounty for league winners(CL) money they seem happy to let it slip away,,

  • Captain Swing says:

They are rapidly approaching pariah status on a Mike Ashley / Glazer family level…..

  • harold shand says:

    Joe

I wouldn’t bet against us dropping more points on Wednesday and St Mirren putting us out the cup

    That’s how bad it’s become

  • John says:

Lawwell and Co just keep taking, they will never change.

  • Tony B says:

Starving the team of quality and investment and still expecting to win the league, is true entitlement, Lawwell style.

There is now a real possibility that Celtic will win nothing this season, since the huns already have the League Cup.

  • Bob (original) says:

You have to think that PL is only doing his master’s – DD – bidding?

And again, one rationale for investing as little as possible in the

squad – and in the business overall – is that DD might be looking for

a sale of his 35% shares stake, and despite what he claims in public?

His portion of the cash pile at yearend [if distributed] equated to c.£23M alone,

    – which might be even less than what he paid for all his shares?

    • Bob (original) says:

      [edit]

      D’oh!

c.£23M might be MORE than what DD had originally paid for ALL his CFC shares?

  • KC67 says:

As a suggestion to embarrass Lawwell could someone mock up a statue of him and place it outside Ibrox with a plaque saying “Thanks Peter, we couldn’t have done it without your help”.
Make sure it’s in the papers – job done.

Then he’ll have the statue he’s always wanted.

    • HCAndersen says:

Easier than that KC67 – you just need a few supporters buses to rename themselves as the Peter Lawwell Loyal, the Dermot Desmond Loyal, etc etc

  • Johnny mcglinchey says:

Get them to fuck and take scales, palma and mcgregor with them, un fuckin beleivable how liewell wants to help these orange cunts out, £60,000,000 riding on champions league and he wants to help his masonic pals. HH

  • Jim Duffy says:

Said it lots of times before, banners and placards will do nothing, this board are multi millionaires that give a fuck about fans banners, the only thing that will jolt them is the we can’t seem to do ,Stop buying STs and merchandise the next televised game organise a massive walk out regardless how the team are doing because don’t worry about this year’s league title that’s already going to ipox, biscuit tin Pete liewell and golf heed desmond have already made sure of that .they think they’re untouchable mainly because of Celtic fans gullible faithful through and through, wake up fellow fans stop this rot starve this greedy board of there oxygen ie money but alas I think we won’t do this, because of our mentality.

  • Jim Duffy says:

Multi millionaires who DONT give a fuck about Celtic.

    • Stesano says:

There are no self made men in that board appart from Desmond and he is not interested!!

We never speculate and this lot done he haw to improve a stadium as in new main stand badly needed Fergus did more in 3 years than these clowns have in 20! They are risk averse ” bean counters” and lawyers!! No visionaries!! Add in their utter distain for us!! As we saw at it’s worse in 20/21 season. We need to get them out! The sheer arrogance and cheek of lawell coming in as ” non executive chairman”! ( Now chairman)! Utter disgrace!

And he knows he not wanted says it all!! One can only imagine the chat in his house with his Nepo son!! Desmond always been the issue these parasites only do his bidding! We need change and now!! And a 72,000 finished stadium! Which by the way we can afford!! But no they don’t want to bury the tribute act!

“Bad for business” says lawell and that’s on record!! Pathetic though he did work for the old board!! That’s the ultimate reason he should never been allowed at our club , ours! And he made himself and others multi millionaires! And employed amateurs like Lennon twice! And others!

Our club run by 3 families again!! It’s our club not theirs! Time has come to get them out!! Been going on way too long!

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

I think it will get pretty ugly for them in 13 days time v Kilmarnock at Parkhead…
