According to Jacques Talbot of Transfers.com Celtic are one of four named clubs showing interest in Adam Berry.

The teenager recently left Manchester United and is currently training with Nottingham Forest but would be available to sign as a free agent.

With the CAA Stellar agency now representing him he should be able to get access to a number of clubs thanks to his Manchester United background and being an England u-17 internationalist.

Talbot has almost 37,000 followers on Twitter.

When Mark Lawwell snapped up Yang Hyun-jun, Marco Tilio and Luis Palma in the summer it seemed that Celtic were well covered for young wingers.

The £3m deal for Nicolas Kuhn and Tilio’s return to Melbourne City suggested that Brendan Rodgers had different ideas with the uncertainty over Liel Abada adding to the issue.

With only Lowland League football, the fifth/sixth tier of the Scottish game to offer to Berry Celtic will have their work cut out to sign the 17-year-old unless Rodgers can offer a quick pathway to first team football.

The Celtic boardroom and the recruitment department really are an embarrassment to their fanbase. The Celtic board, a bunch of penny pinching leeches, that, year in and year out, they slip in and out of the pockets of their support by playing on their faithfully blind and gullible emotions of a fanbase that can’t see the woods for the trees when it comes to their club, to hoard all the money that they can get in oder to hand themselves pay rises for doing f%$k all to elevate this club in any way whatsoever on the European stage and what do the fans get in return, a load of cheap project players in the form of nobodies, in the hope that one of them will amount to a £25Million pound player to justly flushing millions down the toilet, just to stay a hair breath ahead of NewCo.

This article begs the question: what is the actual point/benefit of our development squad and what does it and its management team add to Celtic FC?
I think it’s time to bin that whole set-up as it creates virtually nothing. I’d replace it by bringing in a ‘proper’ DoF (no Lawwell, not you) to work alongside Brendan. I’d also trim the squad and bring in quality, 1st team ready players whilst keeping the best of what we’ve got to put out on loan. In this respect I’d get the closest possible agreements with clubs similar to the rest of Scottish football but also in different environments to give the loanees REAL football experience and preparation for coming into our 1st team. Those who don’t make our 1st team will still get serious development experience and probably find other options to progress their careers. Benefits to us are evident with better teams on the pitch, better to watch, better Euro runs et cetera and a really enticing offer for potential recruits. Oh, and sack the board, they’ve held us back for far too long already.
