Chris Sutton has jumped to the defence of Brendan Rodgers following the Fir Park media storm.
The crime apparently committed by the Celtic boss was to end an interview with Jane Lewis of BBC Scotland with the phrase ‘good girl’.
Part of the SPFL’s contract with the BBC provides them with pre and post match one on one interviews with the manager and a player from each club.

The match was what is universally known as a game of two halves with Celtic putting in a horrendous first half display followed by a storming last half hour to deliver full points.
In per post-match interview Lewis seemed to overlook the actual outcome of the match to focus her questioning on Celtic’s first 45 minutes.
During his answers Rodgers steered the discussion back towards the overall game and the fact that Celtic had taken full points, turning a defeat into a victory.
With Lewis virtually ignoring the answers given the Celtic boss decided that there was no point repeating himself, winding up the interview with a ‘good girl’ comment which was repeated by Lewis.
Using that phrase seems to have set off an alarm signal to a variety of news outlets including the Daily Mail where Sutton is heavily involved, mainly covering English football.
The former Celtic striker was able to provide some context on the storm during a podcast with Ian Ladyman.
Rodgers will host a media conference tomorrow to preview Celtic’s match at home to Dundee, since his return to Celtic in June BBC Scotland have been off the invite list.
