Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Callum McGregor is an injury doubt for Sunday’s match away to Hearts.
The Celtic skipper was missing from training this morning as the Celtic squad prepared for the match at Tynecastle.
McGregor barely misses a minute of action but came off at half-time during Wednesday’s win over Dundee, soon after scoring Celtic’s sixth goal.

??”Callum came off at half-time during the week, he felt his achilles a little bit and his calf…we just have to assess that and see where he is at over the next 24 hours,’ said Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.

The extent of those injuries have still to be identified but they are the sort of issues that can’t be shrugged aside or run off.
Alongside Matt O’Riley the club captain has been a virtual ever present in the Celtic side but was rested for the Scottish Cup tie at home to Buckie Thistle in January.
Tomoki Iwata has started the last two matches in midfield with Paulo Bernardo appearing to be the most natural replacement of McGregor isn’t fit for Sunday’s match.
Teenager Daniel Kelly replaced McGregor against Hibs with Odin Tiago Holm the other option with Reo Hatate currently out injured.
It was always gonna happen with Cal-Mac…
Just far too many games over far too long a period of time –
And that Steve Clarke selecting him in too many meaningless friendlies for Scotland…
I was hoping that Scotland would FAIL to qualify for Euro 2024 –
1) – Because of the joy and jollies that The SFA will get from it…
2) – Because Cal-Mac will be selected in that tournament (which Scotland won’t win anyway) and will be totally and utterly fcuked with fatigue next season for Celtic…
Agree…It was an accident waiting to happen…But it opens the door for someone to make their mark…Calmac’s work rate will be missed ‘though.
