After months of feel-good stories for their readers about taking part in next years inaugural World Championship the Daily Record has had to break the bad news to their army of readers.
Not only will Philippe Clement’s side not be joining up with the giants of the game they are factually the worst team to ever play in the Champions League.
Even for the skilled operators at the Record that is a tricky come down to spin out.

The Record reports:
That qualification system unfortunately means curtains for any Scottish sides competing at the 2025 tournament. Celtic currently have 13 on the board; eight for qualifying twice and five more for their results. That is some way short of Salzburg’s 40 as the lowest ranked team currently placed to qualify.
It leaves Celtic down at 37th, level on points with Zenit St Petersburg and ahead of the likes of RC Lens and Dynamo Kiev. Rivals Rangers, meanwhile, only have four points, obtained by qualifying for last year’s group stage. And it leaves them rock bottom among the eligible teams, level on points with Besiktas.
In other news there are no billionaires from Motherwell.

I’ll bet the Record rag had a feel good factor tale to accompany the embarrassing story it printed to its hundreds of readers of really how bad the Rangers are ? Like how Sir Kenny Dalglish can see the Rangers winning the title ? It’s in the newspaper blood …it’s DNA ….it’s a don’t worry lads ,we’ve got your backs message …in all kinds of weather . The BBC doesn’t hide it’s true blue promotion of the Rangers anymore …neither does the daily Record !
