Chris Sutton believes that Yang Hyun-jun is a cut above all of the other wingers at the club.

Everyone signed during the summer of 2023 is under scrutiny due to Celtic’s stumbling first half of the season with virtually no impact made in the Champions League.

Coming from South Korea at the age of 22 it is a massive ask to step up to play in the Champions League but in recent weeks there has been signs that Yang is coming to terms with Scottish football and the expectations on Celtic players.

Confirming that view in the Daily Record, Sutton claimed:

Yang has come back from the Asian Cup and looked a new player. I know he’s raw and inconsistent, but of all the wingers at the club, I actually have a sneaky feeling he is the one who could go to the very top. He’s got a bit about him, with pace and a trick in him. His finally ball is still inconsistent, but when it works, it works.

A lot has been read into the second half of Celtic’s win over Motherwell and the resounding home win against Dundee.

By 2pm on Sunday, following the trip to Tynecastle, opinions on this Celtic side will be more valid.

After that there are SPFL matches against St Johnstone and Livingston before the ultimate test for every Celtic player- a trip to Ibrox on April 7.
