Brendan Rodgers is content to leave talks about Adan Idah’s future until the end of the season.

The last gasp January signing kept Celtic’s SPFL challenge alive during February but blotted his copybook last Sunday with a missed penalty away to Hearts.

Five goals in eight appearances is a very useful return, especially when dropped into a brand new environment where every match is of critical importance.

Idah is a completely different type of striker to Kyogo Furuhashi, with both of them involved Celtic still carry hopes of finishing the season with two trophies.

With no midweek matches till May Rodgers has time to put in the hours on the training ground, discussing Idah’s future he told the Daily Record:

I’m excited to work with him. He thrives on the pressure here and has a hunger to improve. So we’ll assess that at the end of the season. It’s not all in our hands.

A major revamp looks on the cards at Celtic in the summer, in midweek Liel Abada left for Charlotte FC, with Joe Hart retiring and Matt O’Riley expected to attract big bids next season’s side will look very different to the one that started this season.

Idah is under contract with Norwich until June 2028, CLICK HERE for his Transfermarkt profile.

Big bids for O’Riley is not guaranteed, he has been ordinary and that’s being kind, he has no real pace and cannot use his 6’2 frame in any aggressive way or in the air.

The way things are going it does not look as if we are going to win the league why? Because of directors incompetence would not spend any money to guarantee at least 60mil next season both windows Kuhn a token gesture because right players could not be found ? If over 2 mil far far to expensive. This lot that runs our club should hang there heads in shame but hey we have got money in the bank , a bairn with a biscuit arse could run us better, throwing away all that cash. The sevco lot no money but bringing in players and if they win the league that ucl money will be used to buy players, but hey we have money in the bank.

Ya should’a gone for Shankland in January Brendan…

Could be a costly mistake not doing that…

He might’a scored for Celtic v Hearts last Sunday and not for Hearts (twice)* v Celtic…

*(twice as in beat our Joe – even if one was just offside by the breadth of a public hair) !

It is good to know that we have £63.7 million of talent just sitting there on the bench.
But you can’t put boots or a shirt on it and ask it to play.
    Can you?
