After a week of speculation and intrigue Daizen Maeda has revealed the reason behind his new look.
At Tynecastle on March 3 the forward played with his trademark shaven look but there was something different a week later when he scored a hat-trick in the Scottish Cup win over Livingston.
For two years Celtic fans were used to the shaven look buzzing up and down the left flank, covering more ground than anyone with the growth of his hair taking a bit of getting used to.
On Saturday at home to St Johnstone the trend continued, there is now a dark head of hair down Celtic’s left, reporting for international duty the reason for the new look was revealed.
Maeda has revealed why he stopped wearing a Bald head.
It was influenced by something his daughter said to him. ‘She doesn’t like the shaved head.’
She said she prefers Takumi Minamino’s hairstyle.

When your daughter starts to tell you that she prefers the look of one of your international team-mates it is time to take stock and make some changes.
With almost a fortnight to go until Celtic are back in action, away to Livingston, Maeda’s new look will have taken root as Brendan Rodgers and his squad focus on the run in and the chance to lift two trophies from a testing campaign.
After two seasons at Liverpool Minamino moved to Monaco in the summer of 2024.
