The late call off of yesterday’s match at Dens Park appears to have been very costly for a few loyal bears.

A 12 noon Sunday kick-off isn’t the most sociable of times to play football with long distance fans needing to make a very early start to their drive or use public transport and stay overnight in the City of Discovery.

MF on Twitter seemed to take that choice, being a loyal bear he will have to do it all again for the rescheduled fixture which will either be the midweek before facing Celtic on April 7 or the midweek following that fixture.

The circumstances of Sunday’s postponement seem very mysterious with the pitch in good condition for Wednesday’s match against Aberdeen, nothing more than normal rainfall after that and no rain on Sunday morning as the match was put in doubt.

It seems that there were a couple of areas of the pitch causing concern, for once in his career Don Robertson showed concern for player safety and called the match off.

In December 2021 and January 2022 Robertson had no concern for David Turnbull or Yosuke Ideguchi when they were subjected to serious attacks that resulted in retrospective red cards from the SFA.

has anyone thought like me that they’v done a dunkirk here with the team not up for the fight after thursdays short break ? who did it suit that sevco rested an already jaded side ?

What a nightmare, no public toilets open on Sundays for refreshments/rehydrate.

All Dundee City Council staff were probably attending the St Patrick’s day parade.

After Thursday night’s failed efforts I am of the opinion that this decision would suit them down to the ground…They were blowing out of their arses and Dundee would have given them a run for their money…And I’ll be amazed if the replay is before the Derby game.

  • The Joker says:

Should the game have been caled off to suit sevco we can only hope it comes back to bite them in the arae, for when the game does get played they still drop points.

  • BriBhoy says:

Will we be getting tales of fans being forced to drink water from the train/coach toilets to rehydrate? You’d think they were the only supporters that this has ever happened to. I bet the club were secretly very happy ot to have had to play this one after Thursday’s defeat. I guess they have to indulge in yet more statement o’clock outrage though to stay onside with their fans and an equally pissed off Sky Sports.
