At 6am this morning Kyogo Furuhashi took to Twitter stating that he isn’t afraid of failure.

It was an unusual message and timing from the striker who enjoyed his best performance of the year on Saturday when Celtic beat St Johnstone.

Kyogo replaced Adam Idah in the Celtic attack, scored the opening goal, had another two efforts disallowed for offside and saw a second half shot strike the crossbar.

Having looked frustrated at the lack of service in most of his appearances this season the introduction of Nicolas Kuhn to the Celtic side seems to be bringing out the best in Kyogo.

The German provided a constant supply of crosses and early balls for Kyogo to chase with the striker’s battle with VAR one of the features of the match.

Over the next fortnight Kyogo can enjoy a little rest while others report for international duty, with eight SPFL matches left to play the goals of the former Vissel Kobe striker will be essential if Celtic are to retain the title.

Perhaps that’s all he needed – a winger who knows the correct way to deliver a ball to him, like Jota did and Palma doesn’t seem to.
