Brendan Rodgers used just 32 words in the Celtic statement announcing the departure of Mark Lawwell from the club.
Announced as Head of First Team Scouting and Recruitment in May 2022 the son of the current Chairman was in charge of four transfer windows that failed to improve any position in the team put together by Ange Postecoglou.
Alistair Johnston is probably the most effective player brought in during Lawwell’s time in charge but it is difficult to state a case for the Canadian being an upgrade on Josip Juranovic.
Last summer eight permanent deals were made topped up by two loans, of those players only Luis Palma made a positive impact in the Champions League.
Odin Thiago Holm and Gus Lagerbielke were sent off in the opening match away to Feyenoord while Marco Tilio, Kwon Hyeuk-kyu and Maik Nawrocki were left out of the Champions League squad.
On the brief Celtic statement announcing the resignations of Lawwell and Joe Dudgeon, Rodgers said:
As part of the Club’s recruitment team, Mark and Joe have worked tirelessly to bring success to Celtic, and I would like to wish them both the very best for the future.
No mention was made in the club statement about replacements for Lawwell and Dudgeon or whether there will be a restructuring of that area of the club.
And their replacements have already been ‘confirmed’ ;
Pat Desmond and Jimmy Strachan,

If the Celtic fans really want to see the much-needed change that they crave, to help the club move forward in Europe, do not allow your silence to be bought with a meaningless jester (in the form of Lawwell Jr resignation), keep piling on the pressure until the likes of Liewell Snr, Nicholson and the rest of the money hoarding charlatans are permenrtly removed or prepare to spend the next few decades in the wilderness
Replacement is already at the club. Lawwell senior. Always has been.
