Liel Abada has made special mention of the Celtic support in a thank you message after joining Charlotte FC of the MLS.

Back in September things looked very different when he signed a contract extension but that was quickly followed by an injury and then the events of October 7 and the reactions.

Life for Abada would never be the same again, while he did recover from injury his play was strained with a number of issues going on in the background.

While various reports from Israel were critical of the Celtic support there wasn’t a direct quote from Abada- until tonight when he took to Instagram.

And last but not least thank you to all the Celtic fans. Recent times were very difficult for myself and my family but I want to say thank you to all the Celtic fans that stood by me, supported and respected me as a Celtic player and I hope that I have given you few moments to remember me by.

Abada’s transfer represents another significant loss to last season’s Treble winning squad, despite signing four wingers over the last two transfer windows none of them have had the impact of the Israeli or Jota.

With another profit turned around in this transfer there will be a growing expectation on quality arrivals in the summer under the new recruitment team.

Sorry to see Liel go. A very good player, a decent lad who had to put up with an extremely regrettable issue. Thanks for his efforts and hope he does well.

Now that the Club has achieved another PROFIT from Abada….I’m looking for a different kind…So..is there a PROPHET out there who can tell us where the hell we are going?…To say that the Club is a shambles right now is grossly understating the situation…We are in a mess…and its all down to our spineless Board ….The upcoming ” Disrepute” charge against BR needs to be met head on…and if we roll over on this…then we get what we deserve…Come back Fergus…Your Club needs you.

It’ll be interesting to see the fans reaction on Sunday…

Siege mentality given the British injustice of the football on Sunday and season long as well –

I say British because Scotland is very very tragically still part of Brit land…

Or do the fans truly turn on the yellow bastards in grey suits that are doing Sweet Fuck All (SFA) about it !

99% of the media will swerve that statement

and then go seeking out another quote from some other Israeli nobody’s heard of to have a pop at us

    F*ck them .

I’ll always have great memories of Abada hunskelping and that late goal against Dundee United amongst others

Good luck to the boy in his future

imo, that’s a really poor bit of business?

Abada was bought for £4M and sold to a US club ‘for a reported £6.25M’.

Initially, the rumoured [rificulous] figure was £10M.

IF the club had inisisted on selling him in the summer,

he could have gone to even a Championship club for a lot more.

Abada looked after himself, and CFC supported him by not playing him.

IF Abada was then going to – potentially – miss out on the Euros as a result,

then that was his own problem. His choice.

Nothing personal, but the club should have sold Abada for the best price,

and the best price was never going to come from an American league?
