Fabio Silva is building up quite a show-reel from his loan spell in Scotland.
Welcomed to Ibrox as a £35m superstar he will depart next month with the reputation of being one of the worst divers to have played the game. Up there with Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent among the ‘greats’.
Two weeks ago Silva went viral on Twitter as he spun around the turf at Ibrox banging his arms and kicking out after running into Alistair Johnston, it worked with John Beaton booking the Celtic defender.
Better still another dive in the 52nd minute and the Bellshill based referee raced over to the VAR screen to award a penalty and bring his side back into the match.
Honestly might be the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in football. Biggest cheat of all time and he’s only 21. https://t.co/Qnve7SIVFp

Who would have thought we’d have surpassed this?
Not me

At Hampden on Sunday Silva showed that his natural inclination is to dive, to fall to the ground to gain a free kick. Even when he is presented with an open goal in a national semi-final.
Following his antics against Celtic Philippe Clement refused to criticise his loan forward, he started the following two matches before being put on the bench against Hearts.
With his side 2-0 up in the 80th minute against a team managed by Steven Naismith yesterday’s dive wasn’t costly but with six matches left to play and only one against Hearts Clement knows that another open goal dive could be very costly.
It’s automatic. Get into the box and dive to the ground. Even when you have a simple tap in. ???

Looks like he’d rather dive than score. Nurse! Nurse!

That has to be one of the most bizarre moments I have ever seen in football. He must have thought the ball was a boot. He just threw his arms out as the ball approached and then threw himself on the ground, Utterly bizarre! A clownshoe moment!

It’s clear to see why Wolves couldn’t get shot of him quickly enough. ????

He takes cheating Portuguese cuntishness to a new level.

That… is the worst dive in the history of football.

Fabio Silva has managed to get himself 2 penalties and zero bookings out of this batch.
All since March.
I’m sure there will be many more. pic.twitter.com/hc7RvKciqe— Lint (@Zeshankenzo) April 22, 2024
It’s palpably obvious that the ‘ theatrics ‘ of Silva are produced from the very heart of training ,day after day at the old Murray Park facility ? To win the game by every conceivable way possible by ‘ hook or by crook ‘ isn’t something that happens randomly! This is something that is honed to perfection for maximum effect on a game to game basis ! The problem in Silva’s case is that it is practiced to imperfection …to the point of a total embarrassment not only to himself ,but to his entire clumpany ?
100% correct, Just Cheating.
Exactly! But what self-respecting football club or football company would employ this sort of charade? Oh aye, ‘them’ of course.
