Major injury worry for Clement in the run in

Philippe Clement is trying to put a brave face on the latest hamstring injury to Abdallah Sima.

The on-loan winger was out of action from January 2 until April 8 after suffering a hamstring injury during a Senegal training session ahead of the African Nations Cup.

Out of all the duds signed by Micky Beale last summer Sima has looked to be the most impressive with strong wing play and an eye for goal.

While the media need no encouragement to cheer-lead for Jack Butland, Sima has delivered consistently down the right wing in contrast to the theatrics of Fabio Silva on the opposite side of the park.

When you go off 15 minutes into semi-final there is clearly something badly wrong with the Daily Record reporting Clement saying:

We’re going to see and make an assessment tomorrow. He felt some tightness in his hamstring, I hope it’s not so bad. We hope we can have Abdallah in the next couple of weeks because he’s been really important in that period where he was fit and he was coming back now. So we will see.

It is hard to see Sima pushing to play again this season after his earlier hamstring injury put him out of action for three months.

With a year left on his Brighton contract the 22-year-old will want to be 100% fit for pre-season training as he tries to force his way into Roberto De Zerbi’s plans or, more likely earn a move elsewhere.

Ridvan Yilmaz was injured playing for Turkey on March 22 and hasn’t played since despite the constant positive updates from Clement.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Obviously like most footy fans I don’t wanna see any players of any team injured…

But they are part and parcel of the game and especially in this country of accepted football thuggery…

But fcuk it – If we’re to be blighted with them as we have been this season then so can Sevco bloody well be as well !

  • The great jc says:

Ah but, Clach, everything about THEM is just wicked, wicked wicked.
They are the purest form of evil since Satan tempted the son of God while he spent time in the desert talking with his father.
I want them dead, finished and buried, for good hopefully.
The Scottish leagues fared pretty well without the hun filth in them spouting their vile, bile, hatred and destruction.
They have kicked lumps out of Celtic and left us lame for months for over a century and it’s fair to state they are the antithesis of everyone’s idea of frank, fair and honest football. Everyone thats normal, impartial and non-bigoted; that is.
Its widely accepted they are the face of non-football… possibly on a global scale.
Remember what the chairman of Barcelona said a while ago.
They are unwelcome to return to his great city ever again.

Ergo:If it means their players being injured and failing to succeed, then so be it… its great news in my book.
Yeah they are the sons all right….

I recall at 17 years old, being at a Celtic V Them game in 1979 while playing with 9 men Celtic won 4-2, but it was what a Celtic fan shouted at them at the final whistle that
I remember the most… when he said “yeah you are the sons all right, ” the sons of Satan”.
    Enough said.
