A bottle of Buckfast Tonic Wine was thrown at Matt O’Riley after he scored for Celtic at Ibrox yesterday.

The incident only came to light when Celtic released their Unique Angle coverage from the match this afternoon, until that footage was shown on You Tube there had been no comment on the incident.

O’Riley tucked away a penalty in the 34th minute to put Celtic 2-0 in front, his celebrations were muted in comparison to the magnitude of the goal but someone in the Copland Road Stand decided to throw a glass bottle which landed near his feet.

Alcohol containers have been banned from Scottish football for over 40 years, not only was a Season Ticket holder able to smuggle the bottle in but they had the time and confidence to try and seriously damage someone going about their job.

Sky Sports covered an incident during the second half when coins were thrown at the Celtic technical area with John Kennedy struck during the incident.

Celtic Park will host the last SPFL Derby match of the season in a post-split fixture, next season around 2,500 away fans will be given tickets for each match following a season of home fan only Derby matches.

That rugby guy from the BBC had a lot to say about fans behaviour last week

has he went awol again ?

Meanwhile , by what I’m reading today ,,

    Matondo scored a winning goal

That fish eyed cheat Silva is getting backed up everywhere

John Beaton had a great game

and Souness reckons Sutton’s calling the shots on VAR from the commentary booth

    So, there is ample evidence that, inside ibrox;

    – the CFC supporters have been attacked and injured

    – a staff member behind the dugout has been attacked and injured

    – the CFC players have been subjected to glass bottles thrown on the pitch [twice].

Our Board needs to take control.

Make a public announcement that there is no way we play at ibrox again

    – until the SFA / SPFL finally sorts out these ibrox safety issues,

because the ibrox club has clearly failed to sort it out.

How many times ??…How many times?…No doubt Sevco will suffer minimal sanctions..This country. is a feckin’ joke..

  • David Heron says:

Refuse to play at iPox. Simple. This toxic outfit must be heavily fined. Scotland’s new laws laid bare with that Eejit Shally McCoisht at the helm.

  • Exiled in Ard Mhaca says:

Just imagine that Celtic had have taken all their chances in the first half and gone in 4 or 5 nil up. Imagine they hadn’t let Sevvo back in the game and scored 2 or 3 more. We’d be talking pitch invasions, attacks on Celtic players, serious public disorder and bottles galore on the pitch. Game abandoned. Souness and other Sevco cheerleaders in the media would spin it as Celtic brought on themselves.

  • John Copeland says:

If you look very , very closely when Daizen Maeda scored after just 21 seconds an object gets tossed onto the pitch just missing the Celtic player ? It was obviously heavy in weight as it bounced off the turf when tossed from the Ibrox enclosure ? Not one SMSM media outlet reported the dangerous action (unsurprisingly) ,but came from a Troglodyte the Rangers supporter …yeah ,that’s after 21seconds !
