Don Robertson accused as he shirks Dundee penalty

On Saturday at Hampden Don Robertson will take charge of the Celtic v Aberdeen Scottish Cup semi-final, his third Celtic match since the start of March.

Last night Robertson refereed the visit of Philippe Clement’s side to Dundee, showing the sort of inconsistency that ensures that no Scottish referees will be at the European Championships this summer.

With an uninterrupted view Robertson watched John Souttar use his right arm to scoop the ball away as Lyall Cameron was breaking into the penalty box.

There wasn’t a moment’s hesitation as the match referee ignored the penalty claim safe in the knowledge that Alan Muir on VAR was highly unlikely to request a pitchside review.

Strangely enough at Tynecastle at the start of March Robertson was only too happy to award a penalty against Tomoki Iwata from an incident that no-one else judged to be worthy of a penalty.

With Dundee three points behind St Mirren in the race for a European place Robertson’s failure to apply the Laws of the Game could turn out to be very costly.

Blue tinted glasses right enough for Robertson, and still no sign of collum yet , might have to send out a search party .

Not a peep about last night’s game on BBC teletext Sports Headlines. I wonder why not!?
And hard to find anything on BBC Sports website either!
And Naisysmith is sticking his head up to be shot off, with some useless statement about sevco.
Aren’t you glad you are not a Hun?!

  • Exiled in Ard Mhaca says:

BBC Sevco website last night only mentioned the postponements owing to an unplayable pitch. No mention whatsoever of the 3rd April call off to rest Sevco before the Glasgow derby. Defund the biased outfit immediately if not sooner.

“for whatever reason”, have you not watched the Paul Larkin hour-long video entitled “Anyone but Celtic”? Therein lies your answer.
