Statement FC has written to the SPFL to express their anger at the postponement of tonight’s scheduled match at Dundee.
Following a second pitch inspection, carried out at 3.30pm by Don Robertson, an announcement was made just before 4pm that the match was off.
Philippe Clement was getting the excuses in early at yesterday’s media conference with the full anger expressed in yet another club statement:
The negligence and unprofessionalism demonstrated by Dundee Football Club, where they have repeatedly breached SPFL rules, continues to have a damaging effect on the top professional league in the country.
In a week where record TV viewing figures were recorded for a match in the same competition, and this evening’s game due to be televised again by Sky Sports, this episode is deeply embarrassing and has also been eminently avoidable.
Rangers expects the SPFL to take proportionate and decisive action in accordance with its rules, and the club will continue to make representations to them in the strongest possible manner.
The club has been repeatedly putting forward solutions to the SPFL, which have not been taken up. It has again proposed a solution to the preparation and execution of this rescheduled fixture and is awaiting a response from the SPFL.
As things stand, the rescheduled match will be on Wednesday, April 17 at 8pm. The club considers that this matter has been handled incorrectly throughout by both Dundee and the SPFL.
At this time, we sympathise fully once again with our supporters, approximately 4000 of whom were looking forward to attending tonight’s game. Having already been left hugely inconvenienced and out of pocket by the first postponement last month, it is entirely unacceptable and disrespectful on the part of Dundee FC to have allowed this situation to have developed again.
Had the match been scheduled for last week the SPFL would have had some breathing space regarding their post-split fixtures but Neil Doncaster wanted to give the 2012 Tribute Act a clear week to prepare to face Celtic.
Good news for Daily Record readers is that the postponed match has been won, pushing Celtic into second place.
Call it a draw….
You couldn’t mark the neck of these people with a blow torch. Days after their dodgy decision, their fans throwing bottles and coins at Celtic staff and players they have the tenacity to run to the media. I note that Sky sports their preferred mouth piece is running with the statement and playing up to fanbase. A marked difference in terms of their coverage of Celtic statement on VAR or the attack on our players and staff at Ibrox. I guess that’s what you get when you have a spineless board without a backbone, that views the fanbase with distain and to be fleeced at every opportunity.
” Negligence and unprofessionalism” sweet mother of God. A total irony by pass from Sevco. Plenty of negligence last Sunday at the Bigotdome. Coins and a bottle thrown at Celtic staff and players but thats not an issue when Tims are involved.
Negligence? Ask them to prove it or else it is slanderous. Lost on sevco though!
The scum want everything handed on a plate to them, and certainly the cheating officials have provided that to them so far this season.
Even the SPFL pampered to them by delaying the game to this week, instead of when it should have been played, which was last week?
So now the scum are looking at a trip to Ross County on Sunday, followed hopefully a trip to a Dundee side still looking for points to make the top 6.
Then a semi, even though the against the lesser breed of scum, there still wont be to much preparation work for these games now, especially with the travelling away involved?
So do cheats really prosper?
Getting a bit of there own comeuppance for the scum and fully deserved, I would say
Pure revenge statement aimed at Dundee because they ‘lost’ the email vote to declare The 2020 League Title…
And The SPFL for granting the said title to Celtic as per the rules !
CELTIC FC – First to do 9 in a row and First to do it twice as well no less !!!
