Three weeks after his controversial handling of the Glasgow Derby John Beaton will referee Sunday’s match between Dundee and Celtic.
During the Ibrox clash 23 fouls and four yellow cards were awarded against Celtic with Brendan Rodgers’ side officially the dirtiest senior club in the UK over that weekend.
Fortunately Rodgers was in the dug out at Ibrox for that match., the previous week he had been forced to watch the win over Livingston from the stand as punishment for calling Beaton incompetent on VAR duty as Celtic lost 2-0 at Hearts on March 3.
With 18 referees handling Premiership matches this season it does seem strange that Beaton is put in charge of successive Celtic away matches. At home to St Mirren on April 13 Steven McLean was in charge with Don Robertson refereeing the Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen.
Sunday’s match at Dundee will be shown on Sky Sports, Andrew Dallas will be on VAR duty.

We better score ten
We will b lucky to get 3 given
the celtic board are the ones to blame in this disgrace. the authorities constantly showing us the fingers knowing they wont be challenged. any news on the behaviour at the last derby game ?.
Looks like we’re being made to do it the hard way
Why is it that McLean, Beaton, and Robertson seem to be on rotation on our matches ?
And Collum NEVER on the rotation of Sevco matches for ‘some’ reason or other !
If Nicholson is sitting on mute over this he has to go!
Hope the forwards have their shooting boots on and the defenders know how to play with their arms tied behind their back (except at corners). The Right Worshipful Crawford Allan is obviously trying his damnedest before he finds any of the ‘new opportunities’ he is ‘seeking’……
Chris Sutton said Matt O’Reilly had balls doing a parental at ibrox. Unfortunately all those off the pitch at Celtic have none of those. They will do nothing, there isn’t a Fergus among them.
Panenka
Nicholson has proved himself to be as welcome as sand in your shorts as far as his use to Celtic has been from his first day in and must get booted the hell away from our club as soon as…. he’s way outstayed his board time here. Get him the frigg out now… Lawwell’s shoogly peg will fall soon after him.
Can’t understand what the hold up is.
They’re all holding this club’s progress back. for effs sake.
Lol and the conedy gold continues, talk about doubling down they have now took that to a new level.
Only in Scotland would this happen and only by Celtic would it be allowed to happen! Shocking! Crawford Allan doing everything in his power to facilitate the Establishment Club. Comical if it wasn’t for the manipulation of the match that Beaton and Dallas will carry out. In addition to the opportunity Beaton will have to both ignore any dubious fouls against Celtic but more subtly book and potentially send off Celtic players to weaken them for the visit of Sevco. Shocking!
If anyone was ever in doubt about the quality , standard and reliability of Scottish referees and officials ,I think the announcement that not one of our super heroes have been picked to officiate in any capacity in Germany in the Euro’s this Summer , kinda tells it’s own ,lame ,sorry ,pathetic story about our Men in Black ? Not a single one is good enough to have impressed the selection panel to represent the country at the European championships ,yet our SMSM continue to defend ineptitude, incompetence and complete sub standard refereeing on a weekly basis . You would have been hopeful that maybe one of our officials would have been selected as a bag carrier or a boot polisher or something …but nothing doing ! Total humiliation for everyone connected with our whistlers .
If anyone is in any doubt about the MIBs in this country , just take a look at the faces on the four in the picture at the start of this blog .
(top of the thread ) .
IIRC that was taken at Hampden when we were going up to lift the cup .
I rest my case your honour
