For the fourth time since the winter break David Dickinson will be refereeing Philippe Clement’s side, on Sunday against Kilmarnock.

Even with Willie Collum excluded from SPFL matches involving the Ibrox club it is strange for any referee to be involved with the same club so regularly.

Dickinson had to wait until Matchday 18 to referee his favourite club in the SPFL, as a Christmas treat he was given the December 24 match away to Motherwell which was won 2-0.

The previous month, as fourth official in the League Cup semi-final against Hearts, Dickinson had already struck up a rapport with the new Ibrox manager.

Since Collum was excluded Dickinson’s appointments have escalated to

Match 22 St Mirren away, January 27, 1-0.

Match 28 Kilmarnock away, February 28, 2-1

Match 30 Hibs home, March 30, 3-1

Match 35 Kilmarnock home

It doesn’t take much of a dive into social media to find out about Dickinson and which club his family members support.

When Willie Collum came through the refereeing ranks his job as an RE teacher in a Roman, it is always Roman, Catholic High School was big news.

These days it seems like there is an embargo on refereeing matters away from the game such as Nick Walsh teaching at the Partner School of the Murray Park starlets while John Beaton likes to celebrate at the Crown Bar in Bellshill after refereeing a Glasgow Derby.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Another trolling of Scottish Football by the ‘governing’ bodies then…

Coupled with it being reported on Celtic forums that The Kilmarnock Manager shouting from the rooftops that Sevco shouldn’t have had a penalty given against them at Rugby Park – Just what the hell can we expect to come down the pipe next indeed…

And The main governing body (Sevco) FA / FC once again gets its demands with Willie Collum nowhere to be seen on a football pitch in The Liebrox area of Glasgow !

  • John Copeland says:

I wonder why the governing bodies here in wee Scawlin are strongly against our referees declaring which clumpany or clubs each one in the top flight has allegiances to ? They do it in the land of England without any problems ,so where’s the difficulty with our lot to follow suit ? It’s almost as if they don’t want anyone from the outside looking inside ,in case the giant can of worms gets exposed to the rest of the world for what it is …FILTHY ,SHADY and ALL WRONG !

  • Dangerous Darren says:

There is no shame in the Scottish game anymore it’s just blatant cheating now
