Desperate BBC dig deep to drum up Ibrox transfer excitement

BBC Scotland is increasingly turning to Football Insider to provide feel good stories for Ibrox fans.

Last season’s losses of £17.2m are on track to rise towards £20m this season with all income streams down and the Player Trading Model bringing in a miserable £810,000 for five first team players in the summer.

Connor Goldson, Sam Lammers and Todd Cantwell were removed from the wage bill over the summer but James Tavernier and Cyriel Dessers refused to budge while no offers came in for high earners like Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo, Ridvan Yilmaz, Kieran Dowell, Danilo and Ben Davies.

It will take at least two more years of cost cutting to produce a sustainable club assuming that loyal bears continue to shell out for Season Tickets, Merchandise and other tat while playing second fiddle to Celtic.

That isn’t the sort of message that BBC Scotland wants to relay on their sports pages, instead they turn to the fantasy content of Football Insider for good news yarns.

BBC

Football Insider has various sources inside all top clubs constantly spewing out transfer details and other information from top clubs.

They can call on Recruitment sources, Leading sources and top sources to produce a headline with less than 5% of their stories every coming true.

Gelhardt is 22 years old with six goals to his name in league football, three of them coming on loan at Sunderland last season.

This term he has made two appearances in the Championship for Leeds, both as a substitute.

No doubt a loan move to Ibrox will be accompanied by tales of what an outstanding youth player he was with Phil Clement just the man to realise that early potential.

In the summer of 2023 Chelsea paid Aston Villa £15m to sign Chukwuemeka, it is unlikely that they’ll consider playing alongside Connor Barron and Nicky Raskin as the platform to develop his game.

Episode 2 tonight, covering John Beaton, Pyro, Hibs and Dinamo Zagreb plus lots more.

Lol once again being linked with players they can’t afford, bringing them onloan or in Stonner Barron case just not paying for him but taking him anyway, which is advantage to sevco but not other clubs,by bring players in they can’t afford, you add Miller to that list as well.

All these players showing up at ibrox without them shelling out a coin for them, meanwhile every other club in Scotland is living within their budget, but sevco are allowed to shaft everyone else without a punishment.

Forget about being linked to transfer targets: the incoming CEO has a job to do!

The only guaranteed story for the SMSM to report on,

is that the upcoming ST price hike at ibrox will have the bears foaming at the mouth. 🙂

Stewart doesn’t have many options to fund his very own ibrox revolution.

  • The Joker says:
