Celtic are reported to be weighing up a bid for Raul Moro.
The winger has impressed for Real Valladolid this season and is expected to be on the move this month to fund signings elsewhere as his club battle to avoid relegation.
Brendan Rodgers has highlighted the need to add goals to his squad during the January transfer window with Celtic one of the few clubs that can make cash offers this month without worries over Football Sustainability Rules.
Stephen McGowan is probably the most reliable source of Celtic news, writing in the Daily Mail tonight he claims:
Celtic are weighing up an offer for Real Valladolid’s coveted £8.5million-rated winger Raul Moro.
Equally comfortable on either flank, Ajax have made the former Spain Under-21 international a priority signing.
Despite technical director Alex Kroes publicly confirming his interest in the 22-year-old earlier this week, the Dutch giants have yet to meet Real Valladolid’s asking price.
The breakout star of a club battling to avoid relegation from La Liga, Moro is likely to leave this month to finance signings needed to strengthen other areas in the team.
Real Valladolid are aware of Celtic’s interest in their prize asset, but have yet to receive a financial proposal.
Exactly a year ago Celtic signed Nicolas Kuhn from Rapid Vienna, after a slow start due to weight loss following dental surgery the German is this season’s top scorer.
Injury to James Forrest has restricted Celtic’s options in the wide areas, most noticeably on Saturday away to Ross County when Kuhn and Daizen Maeda were both missing through injury.
Celtic are also reported to be in discussions to sign Kieran Tierney with the defender out of contract with Arsenal in the summer.
