A sell on clause from FAR Rabat on Hamza Igamane is causing further despair among Ibrox fans desperate to sell Hamza Igamane.
After Lille agreed terms with the player the Ibrox spin machine went into operation with quotes of bids starting at £20m plus world record add ons.
Lille immediately dropped all interest in the striker who started 29 of the 59 matches played by the second best team in Scotland, scoring just 16 goals.
That is a decent return for someone in their first season in European football but a long way short of warranting the fees being discussed on social media and over enthusiastic legacy websites.
Anything above £5m would represent great business but the need to replicate Dembele Dollars has hung over Ibrox since Moussa smashed a hat-trick past them in September 2016.
FAR Rabat are likely to have a 20% sell on clause on Igamane although some are speculating that it could be as high as 30%.
Almost like a Tillman deal where the sell-on bonuses seem never ending.
If you didn’t know the old board you’d genuinely believe they were trying to hamper us. Selling players for next to nothing, seven year deal with castore a 30% sell on for Igamane. At least we’ve adults running the club now.

If the reported sell on clause is correct on Igamane from AS FAR. It would explain and would make sense in why we are rejecting bids and renegotiating our own sell on clauses.

On 23rd June 2024 the Daily Record reported:
A club spokesman is quoted in the Moroccan media as stating: “Hamza has signed a contract with Rangers for five seasons, which amounts to £1.75 million plus extra clauses. The reason we have allowed him to make the transfer is we recognise the goal of this talented player was to go to Europe and we have allowed him the opportunity. It also helps the image of our club and Moroccan football. But Hamza will be the only player who will leave the club this summer. We have received offers and interest from other European clubs about several of our players. However, we feel it is important to keep the spine of the team to give us the best possible chance of winning titles this season.”
The bottom line is that an unhappy and underpaid striker will report back to Murray Park tomorrow for pre-season training.
Russell Martin will then have to decide whether he can trust his £30m striker against Panathinaikos in three weeks time or if putting Igamane in the shop window will completely trash hopes of getting Dembele Dollars for Cyriel Dessers’ back up man.
Next week attention is likely to return to selling Nicky Raskin, hopefully no-one mentions the sell-on clause that Standard Liege have on the chunky midfield water-carrier.
Oh dear.
Oh stoap it…..a nearly had to phone the stitch polis…
