A report in The Sun has confirmed that RB Leipzig are interested in signing Nicolas Kuhn.
The 25-year-old spent time with Leipzig, Ajax and Bayern Munich earlier in his career but it was at Rapid Vienna that he found his feet, earning a move to Celtic in January 2024.
Kuhn was in unstoppable form when Celtic defeated Leipzig 3-1 in the Champions League, scoring twice before half-time after the Germans had opened the scoring.
Since then there has been speculation that Kuhn could be on his way back to Leipzig, in The Sun David Friel reports:
NICOLAS KUHN is a £15million summer target for former club RB Leipzig.
SunSport understands the German giants are weighing up a megabucks bid for the Celtic winger.
Later on the report adds:
It’s understood several Bundesliga clubs are watching him but Leipzig want attacking reinforcements after finishing seventh last season.
Is a £15m fee good value for Nicolas Kuhn?
Yes- a great profit after 18 months
No- rather have him on the park than ££££
Friel has a long track record on getting the inside news from Celtic, in February 2021 he broke the exclusive news that Neil Lennon was stepping down as manager 10 hours before the Stock Market announcement.
Kuhn’s summer transfer has been suspected by many supporters but the long term injury to Jota would leave the club short on wingers with Champions League qualifiers looming at the end of August.
Leipzig will miss out on European football next season after finishing seventh in the Bundesliga, Kuhn is under contract with Celtic until June 2029.

On the previous article about facing charges regarding The Buckfast Bomber aka ALKIE CHOPS BROWN and his comments from the Hibs-sevco game.
The SFA will do exactly that sweet fuck all,to then bring another alkie into the conversation in Maxwell to dish out any punishment, that’s like asking ALKIE BROWN AND ALKIE MAXWELL to watch your kerryoot.
Most Celtic supporters know the script by now- sign players with potential, hope they hit the ground running or even better enjoy a purple patch in form, preferably in the UCL, against a team from the top 5 leagues, and its job done.
I’d be happier with a minimum of £20M for Nicolas, or a hefty sell on %, but as you say most of us suspected that he was for the off this summer, just need to get his replacement in early, and keep him on board until the CL qualifier.
I’ll get over Nicolas Kuhn leaving us but I still haven’t forgiven the board for selling Paddy Crerand for £56k back in the day. :(((((
Big Pete,
Would’ve negotiated £1. MILLION
Kid You Not..
Peanuts days are over.. H H
HC is right on Crerand. Too pally with Baxter for Kelly’s liking and talked out of a penalty by Baxter that Crerand missed. However, there are lessons to be learned here. We could have got 3 million for Bonnar, but never took it, long after he was any good. If, indeed, he ever was. 10 million for Kyogo was good, but not replacing him was bad. I feel, IMO, that Kuhn is ‘off the boil’ with us and anything near 20 million is good business. We seem to be after every improving winger in Europe after all. The huns continually let players go ‘off the boil’ and realise nothing on them. We can’t be allowed to make those mistakes. Sell high. buy low, and that’s coming from a mad leftie. Celtic are an exception though. Hail, Hail.
I hope their scouts watched him when he was in the mood to play…Too hit and miss for me…Sulks as well…Take the money and run.
Kuhn has zero interest in staying with us. He’s head has been somewhere else completely for a while now. His body language suggests he wants out- take anything above 17 million and this represents good business.
Sprochan ze Doich Nicholas !
