After helping the Celtic legends to a penalty shoot-out victory over Manchester United Artur Boruc took off his yellow Celtic shirt to reveal a Palestine football top.
The Polish goalkeeper was never far from controversy during five years as a Celtic player where he refused to conform to the strange norms expected by the Scottish media.
After crossing himself at Ibrox during a Glasgow Derby he was warned by Police Scotland about his future behaviour.
At Celtic Park in 2008 after a home win over Rangers he took off his Celtic shirt to reveal a t-shirt recognising Pope John Paul II which Gordon Strachan was grilled about in his post match media conference.
Celtic were trailing Manchester United 2-0 before late goals from Scott McDonald and Shaun Maloney earned a draw with Boruc the hero of the shoot-out, just as he was in 2006 with a penalty save from Luis Saha in a famous Celtic win.
In 2022 Celtic played Legia Warsaw in Boruc’s Testimonial Match.
Artur Boruc was a Celtic FC legend. Today, he once again proved why the fans loved him so much. In the Celtic vs. Manchester United charity match, he wore a Palestine jersey. pic.twitter.com/OtXFwHEVHx

Too bad. I’d like celtic to be Celtic. Were not a commercial board for left wing wars.
What an absolute wank…. you are. It’s not a left wing war it’s a genocide you pric……. Go and support the Huns!!!
Well said Matt. Couldn’t agree more with you.
Proving himself to be a legend.
FREE PALESTINE ?????????
Why shouldn’t Boruc wear a Palestine top. He’s Polish and Poland has recognised the state of Palestine since 1988. I wear various tops every day with Palestine on them. I also fly a Palestine flag on a pole in my back door. It’s hardly newsworthy.
The correct side of history, well done the holy goalie.
Being Polish The Holy Goalie will know all about tyrannical invaders sadly…
