Celtic reach rock bottom with increased fan smears

It seems that no smear, no lie, is too low for the Celtic board as they try to trash anti-establishment fans.

While the club crumbles around him Michael Nicholson has one goal in mind and that is to crush the Celtic Fans Collective.

All sorts of stories are being pushed by media messengers to trash supporters. Celtic’s approved media messengers are only too happy to play ball as they put the boot in.

Wednesday night was uncomfortable for Nicholson and his boardroom cronies. Brian Wilson and Chris McKay were the only other directors bothered to make the journey to Dundee the midweek before Christmas.

Serial hangers on Kevin McQuillan, Tony Hamilton and Mark Hargreaves were there to provide moral support. Making Nicholson seem less isolated.

ALL CELTIC FANS AGAINST THE BOARD

To the left of the Directors Box there were some very angry Celtic fans.

They brought imaginative banners. They shouted, they swore, they pointed fingers.

No-one brought a knife!

Yet that was the story that many of Celtic’s media partners carried yesterday. STV, the Daily Record, The Sun and probably others.

No Celtic fan media outlet has been invited to a match of media conference since the home win over Dundee on December 3.

And there’s more- much, much more.

The sheer idiocy of the blade story is breathtaking. Anyone aware of football in 2025 knows that you don’t get away with flashing a blade beyond a row of Police Officers in any circumstances.

There are spotters around looking for trouble.

THE MYSTERY CELTIC KNIFEMAN!

And absolutely no fan smuggles a knife into a stadium, walks up towards a reinforced row of Police Officers, reaches for their blade and waves it at their intended target.

And yet that was a story yesterday.

Before publishing such a damaging story the legacy outlets would have contacted Celtic for comment. They weren’t discouraged from doing so.

And so the story went out.

Fan media and social media easily put the facts together.

The blade was a finger, in the background was a luminous Police inform.

MEDIA MESSENGERS

That was good enough for Celtic and their media partners to deflect away from a manager that should have been sacked.

A manager that the club is afraid to put up for media conferences because he has become a joke figure over less than a fortnight.

Who interviewed Wilfried Nancy? Who appointed him.

The Frenchman has a real communication issue. He has major football issues. Imposing his pathetic 3-4-3 formation on a broken squad assembled by Paul Tisdale.

There are people out there believing the knife story. Another stick to beat the nasty Green Brigade, another mark on their lengthy fake charge sheet.

All of these smears and actions are strengthening the Celtic Fans Collective.

And what triggered this corporate meltdown? An open letter containing seven questions about the running of Celtic.

Tomorrow, before the Aberdeen match the Collective will celebrate the resignation of the detested Chairman. One down more to go.

The Collective are here for the long run, they aren’t salaried, they don’t get padded seats and prawn sandwiches. The Collective has outlasted Lawwell, his clones Nicholson and Chris McKay are on borrowed time.

Hearts, Celtic, Lawwell, Nicholson, Nancy

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

    Joe,there’s an old saying,which is.
“In war,the first casualty is the truth !”
These parasites will stoop to any levels to cling onto the tail lamp of the gravy train that is hurtling towards the horizon.
I hope there are pickets at the Superstore and shops in Glasgow City centre and the airport to discourage any last minute Christmas shopping at these outlets.
    Their days are numbered !
As The Bunnet would say “NOT ONE THIN DIME !”

Recently is like being in the queue at the local co-op the morning after a scheme murder. The stories get crazier by the minute. He/she just pulled a knife out in front of 30 cops; give us peace SMSM.

Let’s make a real story and get rid of these incompetents on the board.

By the way Michael Nicholson ate my hamster.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

If only If only we had a CEO like Paddy Stewart (ex Sevco) who would stick up for the support…

Even despite being abused at an airport…

    If only, If only…

And yet he’s out there unemployed !

To begin with I thought this was a joke – you don’t need CSI Dalmarnock to tell you the ‘knife’ is the bottom part of the high viz vest, it’s just a trick of the light. We are getting into the realm of Trumpian post-truth propaganda now.

If that’s the best they can do then I know they are seriously rattled and already realise the game’s well and truly up.

Reminiscent of the last days of Mugabe’s dictatorship in Zimbabwe when any political opponents who looked like gaining some traction against him used to find themselves ‘arrested on a charge of sodomy’.

Apologies all round I think. Sue they tabloid fckrs

Not matter what the fans do we should get real this lot on our board will not leave and they will not get rid of Nancy they brought him in and will run with him, they will definitely not want to pay his redundancy far to much to pay the other lot are starting to get their act together as we slowly but surely go downhill. We are run by incompetent people who only want money in the bank and it is always poor them so it’s about time we stop moaning about what they should do because it is not going to happen they are running the club into the ground.
