Paul Mazoyer is about to take up the post of Head of Business Operations at Celtic.
You have to question the wisdom of anyone applying for a job in which you report to Michael Nicholson.
Celtic’s alleged CEO has been at war with the fans for at least a year. Since revealing his exciting January recruitment plans to Gerry McCulloch on December 17 Nicholson has resumed his traditional role of silence.
How Mazoyer works his magic to restore the income streams broken over the course of this season remains to be seen.
CELTIC- HEAD OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS
He may be from the Glasgow area and a high-flyer inside Heineken UK but Celtic fans won’t be fooled while £17,000 a week goes straight into Nicholson’s bank account
In almost five years in the job Nicholson’s main achievements are signing Celtic up for the 2022 Sydney Super Cup and bringing 2,500 Ibrox Season Ticket holders to Celtic Park twice a season.
Celtic are set to appoint Heineken’s Paul Mazoyer as their newly created head of business operations.
The role will include improving retail operations, ticketing, hospitality sales and stadium services.

Profiling the new man in The Celtic Way, Stephen McGowan writes:
Celtic are set to appoint Heineken’s Paul Mazoyer as their newly created head of business operations. The Parkhead club appointed recruitment specialists to advertise the role in October in a quest to deliver ‘world class supporter service.’
Formerly head of Customer Care with the brewing giants Mazoyer was recently promoted to a new post as Heineken’s Head of On Trade Operations.
Reporting to Chief Executive Michael Nicholson and Chief Financial Officer Chris McKay the Glasgow University graduate is now expected to take responsibility for improving a raft of supporter services at Parkhead, including retail operations, ticketing, hospitality sales and stadium services.
According to the job ad the successful candidate will also be expected to ‘play a key role in ensuring our supporters are able to share in the success and experience of being part of Celtic through multi-channel engagement across the club.’
During a pre-recorded interview at the aborted 2025 AGM Nicholson promised a new era in communications.
A bog standard app has been created but Celtic TV remains dull, stale and predictable under McCulloch.
With NOT ANOTHER PENNY hammering every income stream the contempt for ant-establishment customers is hitting the bottom line.
The incompetence of the current executive team has managed to kill off the endless flow of money from fans to Adidas with Celtic among the top 40 clubs in Europe for retail income during season 24/25.
In the next month Celtic will begin their Season Ticket renewal campaign.
With Nicholson, Brian Wilson and Chris McKay the public face of the club it is expected that they will have to dig into the fabled Waiting List to shift 50,000 tickets for 26/27.
Nicholson isn’t expected to feature in the renewals campaign.
