Celtic Ticketing System Fails Fans at Sale

Celtic’s ticketing system collapsed this morning as tickets went on sale for the Scottish Cup semi-final against St Mirren on April 19.

Fans reported multiple failings in what should have been a straight forward exercise with everyone in the Home Cup Ticket Scheme allocated a Hampden ticket.

Many supporters are in groups to ensure tickets together.

Others have to buy discounted tickets for children but found that the system was incapable of carrying that out.

To top things off it was taking around an hour to carry out the operation before being unable to complete the purchase.

Celtic add a £1.50 fee to every ticket for an operation with no physical costs.

This morning many fans were trying to purchase while at work. St Mirren put their tickets on sale more than a week ago.

Apologies for any issues caused earlier with Semi Final Tickets, seems to have been a problem at service provider side but have been advised that it’s resolved and site is up and running now

In his only ever media interview, in June 2023, Michael Nicholson claimed that the club aimed to be world class in everything that they do.

Almost three years later the purchase of tickets seems like a throwback to the dark ages.

In contrast Hampden Debenture holders have a five day window to purchase tickets without any booking fee.

All Hampden tickets are dealt with through the app which cuts out a variety of problems.

While every club in the EPL and a handful in Scotland run a ticket exchange for Season Ticket holders Celtic have resisted that move.

That scheme allows Season Ticket holders to sell their ticket for a credit when they are unable to attend.

That would allow fans without tickets to attend. Often matches are sold out with plenty of empty seats on show .

With the way things are going on the park it looks like sell-out matches will be very rare next season.
