Chris Sutton didn’t hold back as Celtic crashed to a 2-0 defeat away to Dundee United.
The hoops recently came through a very demanding four match away spell with their heads held high.
Without the distractions of midweek fixtures Celtic fans headed to Tannadice looking for a victory and title statement.
They got neither although the result probably stated how inadequate the squad is to claim a fifth successive SPFL Premiership title.
United scored twice in the early stages of the second half. Celtic had virtually nothing in reply.
If anything the home side looked more likely to add to their lead than give anything away.
SUTTON CALLS OUT THE CELTIC NIGHTMARE
It was coming. This Celtic team have been a shambles this season. The centre forward situation sums the club up. Everyone knows the root cause. Celtic reaping what they sowed. Complacent to the core and trying to rely on Martin to bail them out. I feel for Martin.

Some former players prefer to sugar-coat their comments in bad times. Sutton calls it out as he sees it. His current loyalties and with the media outlets that pay for his opinions. Not deflection exercises.
Today Celtic lost for the eighth time in the SPFL Premiership.
During the 2-24 calendar year they lost twice in all competitions. Their only SPFL defeat was in controversial circumstances away to Hearts.
Sutton summarises the situation well. The bullet points.
Martin O’Neill has covered the multiple failing inside the club.
He emerged from back-to-back matches at Ibrox unbeaten. With pride and a Scottish Cup semi-final place.
The squad remains thin, the quality overstretched. In attack Celtic offer little, elsewhere they are vulnerable.
Celtic fans will stew on the defeat for a fortnight before returning to Dundee, across the road at Dens Park.
Lots of questions will be asked in the build up to the April 5, only three points will provide any sort of answer.
With seven matches left to play Celtic trail Hearts by five points. There was little margin for error going into today’s match, now it seems like Celtic will require seven wins if they are to retain the title.

I can’t understand still playing with two wingers when they both add absolutely nothing going forward and are a liability defending…. The only chance of retrieving the league is to now play 4-4-2 with two strikers and also to get Bombscare Scales out that team…

Just what has happened to Maeda?
I’ve said this already, but I’ve honestly never seen such a dramatic change in a player.
He has gone from a dynamic goal getter to someone who can’t even connect with the ball when it’s placed right at his feet, it’s unbelievable the complete lack of control he has now, he misses virtually every ball played into the box even for tap ins. Last year he was a genuine 15-20m asset, we would be lucky to get 4m for him now.
As for Hatate, once again caught dithering with zero concentration, every player in the spl must know now just press him and the baws yours. Get rid.
But tbf, it’s hard going to name any player you would keep for next season…and I mean any.
Finally, I have absolutely no idea how, with 7 games to go, this utter shambles of a team are still in it at the top, and if the Nancy debacle hadn’t happened we could even be at the top, it’s mind bending we can be that bad and still challenged up till now.
This defeat is probably the end of the challenge but I suppose if u win all 7 it could still happen.
But who would back this team to win 7 in a row?
I’m glad it’s probably over though the pain of a cup semi is still ahead.
The suits are to blame, no one else, the suits.
Mass season ticket exodus is all that will effect change.
But that won’t happen.
And they know it.
maeda is playing to lose the club the CL monies when we lose the league , he knows he’s done at Celtic and he’ll see the board will pay dearly for costing him his move , hatate much the same , no interest their either , they played against the huns because they were being goaded and made fun of by their fans there , the perfect storm blew in and BRs saw it a mile off
The likelihood is Hearts eight ahead and Sevco five ahead before we play again…
These usless c*nts won’t handle that for sure !
Today’s result has been coming. The players with one or two exceptions are the most useless and gutless I have seen for many years. They need to take a long hard look at themselves tonight. Please don’t let me see Yang, Tounekti,Scales, Cvancara and a few others in a Celtic jersey ever again. They aren’t and never will make football players. O’ Neill and Maloney can go too. They both said that the January recruitment was down to them which means they are both blind. Mvuka,Adamu etc. are total dross. Lastly tonight Nicholson, McKay, Wilson and Desmond do the right thing and GTF.
Not a penny spent in January in the midst of a 3 way title race
Staff and fans assaulted on the pitch
Blatantly cheated on a weekly basis by corrupt officials
And they stay silent .
They all need hunted starting with that c*nt at the top
