More than three weeks ago David Tanner found himself at the centre of attention.
TalkSPORT couldn’t care less for Scottish football but they do like a scrap. They like to see things kicking off.
When Celtic won their Scottish Cup quarter-final tie at Ibrox on penalties they had their man in the front row of the press gantry.
Over to David Tanner, the chance to shine. Without cameras around he didn’t even have to worry about keeping up with his autocue.
Unfortunately Tanner was in the pits of despair. Back to back ’Old Firm’ games at Ibrox and not a home win to report on.
Worse than that Selik fans were back. In the so-called Free Broomloan singing the songs that have haunted the last 15 years of Tanner’s life. At Ibrox of all places.
And now TalkSPORT wanted wee Davie to describe the after match live on air! Hasn’t he suffered enough?
Apparently Celtic fans were swinging on the crossbar Wembley 77 style.
TEARS FOR TANNER
Some reached towards the half-way line at Ibrox, and then the incident that tipped Tanner over the edge.
One of the Celtic fans blessed himself while facing wee Davie and the fuming bears in the Main Stand.
Who did he think he was? Bojan Miovski? Manny Fernandez? Shota Avaladze?
Tanner couldn’t hold back on his anger at the shocking incident, clearly done to anger opposing fans.
Tanner broadcast the sort of views that he usually keeps off mic. Wee Davie detests everything about Celtic except the media facilities that he calls on a few times a season.
At the risk of repeating myself. @DavidTannerTV
A ‘broadcaster’ followed by fewer people than a guy who just shows folk around a football stadium. ?

Since being replaced by Hayley McQueen at Sky Sports Tanner has watched his career tumble downhill, out of control.
In 2005 Hello! and OK! politely knocked back his offer that they could cover his celebrity wedding.
Now he was scurrying around British Legion clubs trying to gather interest in Q and A sessions with washed up former Rangers players.
On Twitter/X Tanner has around 14,000 followers.
His wacky new podcast Toe Poke about Scotland’s World Cup adventures has attracted 77 subscribers after four blockbuster shows.
Tanner is only made relevant by Celtic supporters.
If it wasn’t for his anger and outrage at a fan blessing himself at Ibrox there would be no interest in the pint sized former anchor-man.
NOTE: Tanner uses sweary words in his podcast.

Odious little man, but representative of 90% of those involved in the Scottish football media.
The only difference being, he seems to be too stupid to keep himself safe the way the rest do.
But then again, he has basically publicly uttered something that could be directly construed as racist and zero interest from any Scottish media.
Imagine that being someone saying the orange Protestants are invading the pitch, less offensive but removed from post immediately.
