Celtic have announced the transfer of Odin Thiago Holm to Valerenga.
The midfielder returns to Norway, rejoining his old club on loan until December.
Holm joined Celtic on loan during the summer of 2023 but in common with most signings from that window has struggled to make an impact at Celtic.
During his first season Holm started just two SPFL Premiership matches with a further seven appearances coming off the bench.
Away to Feyenoord in September 2023 seemed to be the end of the road for the young Norwegian.
With Celtic trailing 1-0 to the Dutch champions Holm was sent on to replace debutante Luis Palma in the 58th minute.
Ten minutes later Holm was sent off, Celtic lost 2-0 but for young Norwegian that cameo role seemed to be the beginning of the end of his Celtic career.

Opportunities were rarer after that red card. Celtic toiled in the Champions League with Holm never fully regaining the trust of Brendan Rodgers.
HOLM SCORERS HIS ONLY CELTIC GOAL
Shortly after his 21st birthday Holm scored his only goal for Celtic, in a Scottish Cup win over Buckie Thistle n January 2024.
There was only one more Celtic appearance that season with Brendan Rodgers turning his attention to Daniel Kelly as an additional midfielder.
In January 2025 Holm was sent out on loan to Los Angeles in the MLS but a worrying circulation issue curtailed his playing time.
It seems that only Yang Hyun-jun of the summer 2023 signings has any contribution to make at Celtic.
Gus Lagerbielke, Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Marco Tilio have already left. Maik Nawrocki and Luis Palma are out on loan.
After almost three years with very limited playing time Holm will be hoping that a return to Valerenga will give him the chance to get a series run of performances. The 23-year-old is under contract at Celtic until May 2028.

Got to say the young fella, to me, looked like there was a player inside him. With good coaching and managing he may have turned out a good buy. Who knows?
Good for Celtic PLC to actually announce something today after VideoCelts more-or-less told us it all yesterday.
But that’s a huge improvement from the PLC so Nicholson has earned a pound of his preposterous £17,000 a week. Let’s just await evidence of his ‘earning’ (sorry, theft?) of the other £16,999. Nothing? Quel surprise!
USE THE 5 WA (force the new CFC to do so) and PICKET CP, PICKET THEIR HOMES…..the result will be everything you hoped for, or not. But at least we’ll have tried and sent out a message for vultures circling above OUR club.
PICKET! PICKET! PICKET! and if that doesn’t work quickly, PICKET AGAIN with increased numbers! It WILL work, trust me. I was a shop steward. Not a bought and paid for one, a real one. Whilst I led by the men’s vote (which I often asked for), I had ONE Rubicon thingy: We do not go on strike unless and until I call it and you all agree. Otherwise elect a new steward.
We NEVER went on strike, we worked to maximum safety and got everything we’d discussed going on strike for with NO loss of earnings. I was told by a director to “fuck off back to Russia”, a country I never had and never will visit.
PICKET their homes! They WILL give in.
NB Must get Ross Desmond’s address (and locate his Da’) and exhibit the father Desmond’s, illicit, ranting at, and previous to, the illicitly abandoned AGM.
All we need do is show our REBEL side. If you don’t have one you’re not a true Tim, IMHO.
