25th October 2026; Easter Road Stadium, Edinburgh, Scotland; Scottish Premiership Football, Hibernian versus Celtic; Referee Ryan Lee
Bungling referee Ryan Lee will be in charge of Aberdeen’s League Cup semi-final at Hampden on Saturday.
If ever any evidence was needed that ability isn’t a factor in Scottish refereeing it is this weekend at Hampden.
Lee, fresh from his pathetic performance in the Hibs v Celtic match will get to decide the first finalist in the League Cup.
The following day when Hearts play Hibs for the other final place David Dickinson will be the referee.
Lee is certainly one of Collum’s clones, fast tracked through the system with no feel for the game or knowledge of how the Laws are applied.
Twice he pulled Celtic back to award pointless free kicks when the hoops were taking advantage of a position.
HOW RYAN LEE INFLUENCES OUTCOMES
The Disadvantage Rule is a very popular way of halting Celtic without making match defining decisions.
Lee also managed to knock Kasper Hogh to the ground highlighting how he can’t read the flow of a game.
Other than that he performed as a holding midfielder for Hibs, especially during the first half, creating an extra obstacle to play through.
For extra insurance at Hampden John Beaton will be on VAR. At least Steven Robinson knows in advance what his side are facing.

Dickinson was climbing the ladder ahead of Collum’s appointment as Head of Refereeing at the SFA in 2024.
His family background is well known across social media yet he remains in the spotlight for high profile matches.
At Celtic’s recent 7-1 win over Hearts he was happy to allow the visitors to take a throw-in 15 yards forward from where the ball went out of play.
Hearts scored from the goal without a month of national mourning led by Pat Nevin and the cheerleaders at Radio Scotland.
Tomorrow night Steven McLean will referee Celtic v Dundee United. Seventeen days ago he demied Celtic a penalty against Motherwell, even Collum admitted that it was a mistake.

If referees are found guilty of any major mistakes during or after games eg PANELS and head of referees agree that a mistake was made then it should be treated as a red card and the referees in question should be banned for a minimum of 3 games Not rocket science Collum sort it out.
