The Mexican view of Efrain Juarez (he’s a midfielder)

|

There’s a lot of  speculation going on at the moment linking Efrain with a move to Celtic.

Many people presumed that Pablo Barrera would be joining Celtic as well but he looks like signing for West Ham United instead.

Barrera is Efrain’s club teammate and they link up rather well as Pablo is a very dangerous right sided midfielder if not forward and Efrain plays both right back and right midfield when the formation is 5-3-2.

He prefers to play as a midfielder ever since Mexican coach Javier Aguirre started playing him there before the start of the World Cup.

Aguirre had originally played him as a right-back and he performed well but he wanted to experiment with his line up so he tried Juarez  in the midfield and did a stellar job against the like of South Africa, France and Argentina (he didn’t play against Uruguay due to suspension).

He is a really rough player and can therefore perform in tough leagues such as the EPL or SPL as I have seen that it is no walk in the park.

I am aware of Celtic’s rich football history and their many awards and signing this lad would leave Rangers with much envy, trust me.

He is a guaranteed starter with the national team despite there being other perfectly well suited players who play football in Europe, whereas he plays in Mexico.

He helped Mexico to win the 2005 FIFA under 17 World Cup and was recruited by Barcelona but had to leave because he could not receive a work permit.

He was supposedly asked to come back but he refused as he and his agent saw it as something that wasn’t prudent.

In Mexico there is much to cheer when a player moves to a top European club like Celtic. We just had Barrera move to West Ham after his impressive performance against France where he won a penalty.

Javier Hernandez has joined Manchester United and scored against France and Argentina despite being subbed in in every game so it is a big deal when we have Mecican players exported to Europe especially when they are young and talented as these three are.

Plus, fans begin to become fans of these clubs so if Celtic sign Juarez don’t be surprised if Celtic jerseys begin to be sold more in Mexico plus more Mexican fans would begin to follow the Scottish League as I already do so myself.

Juarez would probably be the first Mexican to play in Scotland but would make scouts very interested in that market. I’m not too familiar with Celtics squad right now but I’m pretty sure he would become an instant starter because he has a never quit mentality and fights to the end.

Really hoping Celtic sign him and he doesn’t end up in a small EPL team or in the Spanish League as he has received several offers from.

Celtic would be the perfect choice.

  • Hail! Hail!
I am taken by the possibility of Celtic sgning Efrain Juarez. I watched some of the Mexican games at the World Cup. If this signing goes through, then I think Celtic fans can look forward to watching a player who is very similar to Stilian Petrov!
Well done to Neil Lennon in advance.
