BBC Scotland have uncovered the source of Mark McGhee’s weekend anger.
As both teams warmed up before the game the Motherwell boss races over to talk to his own coaching staff then runs deep into Celtic’s half to confront a member of Celtic’s back-room team. McGhee can be seen throwing his hands in the air during the incident.
Whatever happened it certainly wasn’t forgotten when the final whistle blew. McGhee was action pictured throwing his hands up and appears to be getting restrained by fourth official Alan Muir.
It remains to be seen whether the after match incident is included in the referee’s match report.
Kevin Clancy was on the pitch at the time but is likely to have been informed about it by Muir.
