Celtic fans reacted furiously on twitter to the horror challenge by Ryan Bowan on Kieran Tierney.
In the 65th minute of the match the Motherwell man went in with a straight leg as the Celtic defender kept his eye on a long cross-field pass.
Fortunately Bowman didn’t make contact with Tierney’s standing leg with the teenager left with only a gash on the side of his left knee from the challenge.
Kieran Tierney is very lucky his leg didn’t break from that tackle. Easy a red card

That tackle on @kierantierney1 was right in front of me, 100% red – ref bottled it and should be embarrassed when he sees it again. #celmot

@celticfc @DBestseventy2 @kierantierney1 If refs won’t look after our skill players, Celtic need to issue some controlled retribution.

Celtic did win the match 2-0 to restore their 27 point advantage over Aberdeen at the top of the SPFL.
Shortly before half time Moussa Dembele opened the scoring from the penalty spot with James Forrest adding a second just before the interval.
As a bonus for Brendan Rodgers, Stuart Armstrong made his return from injury, replacing Liam Henderson at half time.
Aberdeen can cut the lead back to 24 points with a win at Kilmarnock tomorrow with the hoops next in action against Hamilton Accies next Saturday.
