Celtic gave their fans a tea-time treat with the announcement that Cameron Carter-Vickers has signed on a permanent basis.

Four weeks after the final SPFL Premiership fixture some doubts were being expressed about the proposed deal but after starting the day with a kit launch the club’s social media team sent the feel good factor into the weekend.

A four year deal is a good commitment in any terms, after constantly being sent out on loan from Spurs the defender has some security and certainty going forward.

Signed in the closing minutes of the summer 2021 transfer window CCV made a scoring debut against Ross County and provided a steadying influence in defence.

The highlight of his season came at Ibrox in April when he ceased on a loose ball in the Ibrox penalty box to slam what proved to be the winning goal past Allan McGregor to send Celtic six points clear in the race for the SPFL Premiership title.

With his deal signed the defender can now look forward to Champions League football as he fights for a place in the USA World Cup squad.
