Emilio Izaguirre is on his way to Celtic convinced that he can solve the long standing left-back problem position.
The 44 times capped Honduran internationalist will have no difficulty securing a work permit and is expected to complete a £500,000 transfer in time to make his debut against St Mirren on Sunday.
The player, known as Milo, said: “My agent worked very hard to get me a move to a big European club. Now I’m going to fulfil my ambition of signing for a huge team.
“I’m going to Europe to sign for Celtic and I am very excited about it. God willing, I will be a success in Europe. Now I just want to go and play football for my new club.
“Celtic is the biggest teams in Scotland and I know that they have signed the Mexican Efrain Juarez.
“Contact first took place in the World Cup, at one stage it looked like I would be moving to Wigan if Maynor Figueroa went to Liverpool, but in the end that didn’t happen.”
Unlike Rangers trialist Georgie Welcome who also plays for Izaguirre will have no difficulties obtaining a work permit.
Two years ago the full-back was ready to join Ipswich but had his application for a work permit turned down.
With Swedish defender Daniel Majstorovic also joining up the pace of change has never been faster at Parkhead.

Maloney admitted: “I apologised to Paddy. It was my fault. I was delighted he’d scored such a brilliant goal and he ran into my chest and hurt his neck.
“It’s a strange situation and I’m gutted for him that he had to be substituted after that bit of magic. Hopefully he’ll be okay soon.
“I should probably have had two or three goals, but that was the only downside of the game.”

Just had to say…I’ve been a critic of the Board for quite a while now…but..fair play to them…they have given Lenny every chance to build his own team…and this new addition will only make things better.
I’m starting to get a wee bit “excited” ( been there before ..so not too much …yet!!)…
After a poor first-half yesterday….we upped about 4 gears and totally outplayed ICT.
Lenny says he’s not too bothered about the chances we missed…well I ain’t gonna argue with him …but…
Hopefully…as the team settles and gels ….things can only get better.

I know its hard to judge but he can pass the ball and can defend a bit, that all ready puts him 2 up on anybody else at the club. Get him signed, Hail, Hail!
