Cillian Sheridan is looking to end his well travelled year on a high away to Porto tonight.

The striker has scored in CSKA Sofia’s last two matches, at home to Besiktas and against Malesh Mikrovo in the Bulgarian Cup.

Sheridan scored within five minutes of coming on as a substitute against the Turks and was rewarded with a starting place against Malesh at the weekend.

CSKA’s hopes of qualifying from Group L of the Europa League are already dead and buried with Porto and Besiktas qualifying with ease leaving CSKA and Rapid scrapping at the bottom with both teams winning away from home against each other.

Looking to tonight’s match CSKA coach Asasho Hristov said: “It’s a great honour for us to play with a team like Porto. Even though they are a very strong opponent, we are wanting to show our best.

“We showed in Vienna the type of team that CSKA has to be well and hopefully able to return to CSKA respect European he deserves. ”

Sheridan’s eventful year has seen him wearing the colours of Plymouth, St Johnstone and CSKA Sofia as well as picking up international caps at u-21 and full level.

Not many players make the move from Ireland or Scotland to Bulgaria but after three loan moves from Celtic the 21-year-old headed to Bulgaria during the summer in a £300,000 deal.
