|

blue ballon ewan cameronEwen Cameron is to quit the Real Radio football phone-in after eight years in the hotseat.

Cameron, who claims to be a Hearts supporter, was made famous whilst Gordon Strachan was manager of Celtic with the former hoops boss unable to contain his contempt for the DJ.

After leaving Celtic Strachan highlighted the fact that a DJ could come along to grill him at media conferences as one of the problems with his media relations.

Happily for Strachan Cameron is now leaving sport to co-host Real Radio’s Breakfast Show alongside Cat Harvey.

That job became vacant when Robin Galloway left the company after one of his wind-ups involving Labour leader Ed Miiliband backfired.

Announcing the move a statement from Real Radio said: “Ewen’s enthusiasm, experience and understanding of the Real Radio audience, makes him the perfect choice for the show.

“Ewen epitomises the fun, family ethos of Real Radio and we look forward to hearing Ewen and Cat on-air in the New Year.”

Alan Rough will continue to co-host the football phone-in whilst they look for a replacement for Cameron.

It is not known whether the new look Breakfast Show will contain a regular slot for the Rangers Supporters Trust.
