|

Lee McCulloch Celtic newsRangers midfielder Lee McCulloch has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

The midfielder was an injury doubt for tomorrow’s Scottish Cup clash but according to a report in The Sun the midfielder faces knee surgery and will be out for the rest of the season.

According to The Sun McCulloch was given the news yesterday when he went for a scan on the knee injury that forced him off during Wednesday night’s 1-0 win over Hearts.

SunSport can reveal the hugely-influential Rangers midfield star was told the devastating news yesterday.

The knee problem was first identified during pre-season but yesterday’s scan revealed a cyst that requires surgery.

McCulloch has been virtually an ever present for Rangers over the last three season’s and has been converted into a holding midfielder over the last two seasons.

His absence will be a big blow for Smith who has always been concerned about the effect of injuries to his main players.

The emergence of Jamie Ness goes some way towards making up for the shortage of numbers in midfield but the experience of McCulloch will be badly missed especially with three matches against Celtic coming up over the next six weeks.

The sad demise of RFC in front of our very own eyes might just about to start now. It’s like a weary old tendon snapping under the stress and strain of old age and neglect. The African Spitter will come to the rescue though and all will be alright RFC fans as he’s the real deal when it comes to the dark side of football. We will come, we will kick ass and we will see the resuting melt down of an institution from the murky depths of Govan, spit, spit, spit!
