The former Celt was one of five home players booked with goals from Otar Martsvaladze and Sergi Bendz in the first 15 minutes got the campaign off to a perfect start in front of 14,000 home supporters.

“I did mate! didn’t remember how it feels playing 90min…” the Bishop tweeted in reply to one question after the match.

“Thanks everyone for all your support! can’t find words to explain what I feel reading all your messages!love you all #celtictweeps!”

While the Bishop’s new club were celebrating Spartak Moscow went down to a shock 4-0 defeat away to Rostov.

Aiden McGeady was missing from the Spartak side who must lift themselves for Thursday’s Europa League tie with Ajax.

Spartak won the first leg 1-0 in Holland but tonight’s result will give Ajax hope that they can turn the tie around and book a place in the last eight.

In England Paul Lambert was delighted to see Norwich move into second place behind QPR in The Championship with a 3-1 home win over Bristol City.

Two goals in the last five minutes from Henri Lansbury and Andrew Surman gave the home side the points after Albert Adomah had cancelled out Grant Holt’s opener.

The win lifts Norwich three points above third placed Swansea and seven behind QPR with nine games left to play.
