Thomas Rogne Celtic newsThomas Rogne has been called into the full Norwegian international squad for the first time.

The Celtic defender has been named in a 17 man squad alongside winter signing target Erik Huseklepp for the home match with Denmark on March 26.

Rogne has also been named in the u-21 squad which plays Austria on March 29.

Norway go into the derby match sitting on full points from three matches at the top of Group H which also includes Portugal, Iceland and Cyprus.

Rogne has been a regular in the u-21 squad with veteran manager Egil Olsen having no worries over calling up the Celtic defender.

Olsen said: “We have had Thomas in our sights for a long time and he has played good games for a good team.

“He is an exciting player, and because of the decline of (Vadim) Demidov he gets the chance.”

Rogne returned to the Celtic team as a substitute for Daniel Majstorovic in the 2-0 win over Hamilton Accies and will play alongside Charlie Mulgrew in the Scottish Cup tie against Inverness Caley Thistle tomorrow night.
