Whenever they get around to releasing the Paddy McCourt dvd it’s guaranteed to be a best seller.
The Derry Pele has still to score a ‘normal’ goal with each strike in the hoops memorable in it’s own way.
Diego Martinones of Bloomberg in Peru may or may not have a cult following but the goal that he scored recently would certainly meet with Paddy’s approval.
The goal came when Bloomberg took on rivals the Destroyers in an annual friendly known as the Copa Fundacion de Santa Cruz.
Bloomberg won the match 2-1, with Martinones scoring both goals with the winner shown above.
Five minutes from the break Blooming number nine Gustavo Pinedo collected the ball on the right hand side. Pinedo delivered a not-so-wonderful cross into the mixer, but after the Destroyers defenders failed to clear their lines the pass eventually arrived to Martinones just outside the six-yard box.
Martinones then performed a 360 degrees spin in front of goal before volleying the winning goal high into the net.
