|

Marc Crosas Celtic newsThe Bishop of Twitter, Marc Crosas was celebrating another treble last night as Volga, Celtic and Barcelona kept up their winning form.

Crosas seems to have made the perfect move with newly promoted Volga winning 3-1 away to Rostov with the former Celt again playing the full 90 minutes.

That win put Volga back to the top of the table ahead of champions Zenit who drew 1-1 at home with CSKA Moscow today.

With nine points from their first four matches the newly promoted club look to have found their feet quickly and will already be looking beyond simply surviving in the top flight.

“I am very happy that we managed our first away victory,” Omari Tetradze, the Volga coach said. “ In this game, we tried to eliminate gross errors and eventually achieved deserved success.

President Alex Goikhman added: “Today, the team played in a good, interesting, fun soccer- beat “growth”, as they say!

“We showed everyone that we can win not only at home but also on a visit but the most important thing now is not a delusion, we can’t suffer any euphoria. We will nowprepare for the next match with a very serious contender Locomotive Moscow.”

Volga’s win came after Kris Commons late goal had provided the points for Celtic and Barcelona fought back from going a goal behind to beat Almeria 3-1.

Crosas had been in good form in midweek cheekily tweeting: “Ooooohhhhhhhh!Barça and Celtic won 5-1 and 3-1 and both with scottish referees…Shocking!!! “ after both teams had won on Wednesday night
