Neil Lennon speaks out on Ally McCoist incident

|

Ally McCoist Celtic newsNeil Lennon believes that the reaction to his touchline disagreement with Ally McCoist was way over the top.

A Scottish government summit was called on the back of Celtic’s 1-0 Scottish Cup win over Rangers which saw three Ibrox men sent off.

On Tuesday Madjid Bougherra and El Hadji-Diouf will appear before the SFA to explain their behaviour with the SFA also looking into the incident between John Boyle and Craig Brown at the end of the Motherwell-Aberdeen match last Saturday.

Lennon has kept a low profile since the Scottish Cup win over Rangers but spoke to the News of the World about the aftermath of the McCoist incident.

“I wasn’t happy with the reaction after the game,” the Celtic boss said. “Far too much was made of what happened at the final whistle.

“A lot of fingers were pointed at me. I apologised to Celtic’s board the following day for what went on at the end.

“But I still think there was a gross over-reaction to my part in it. My role was nothing more than just a bit of finger-pointing to something I took exception to.”

Unfortunately though Neil, you’re a marked man wherever the establishment is concerned. Any time you put your head up above the ramparts the bastions of even handedness at the SFA will be lining up to slaughter you and as for the joke we Scots call the media…they slaver and slobber over any infraction on your part.

I for one can’t wait to see what will be the outcome of tomorrow’s “summit” at the Hampden Lodge when Diouf and Bougherra come calling, as well of course as everyone’s favourite uncle, Craig Brown the ex-SFA employee and ex-Rangers employee. The silence of the Police and First Minister over Brown’s barny with Boyle has been deafening.!!

We all know that the silence will alwys be deafing ,so can I just ask a wee question. I was firmly against Neil Lennon, i had visions of John Barnes , no experience massive club. but Neil lennon has well and truly won me over , there is an absolute love of this club he hurts when we hurt and gets angry when we get angry.and i believe HE has well and truly brought the thunder back , and all this while under threat of death and harm to his family. So here is my question , IF…,we don,t win any silverware will Neil lennon be classed a bad Celtic manager?

  • Mark O'D says:

no he won’t and that’s not a clever question really, Mowbray was a bad Celtic manager, John Barnes was a bad Celtic manager, Lennon will go down in history as a great Celtic manager, whether the scottish “media?” or SFA like it or not, and that my dear fellow tims is the icing on the proverbial cake.
come on the Dons put up a good fight and those useless tits are there for the taking tomorrow. Hamilton looked like Barcelona against those inept thugs
