Stewart Regan Celtic news

SFA Chief Executive Stewart Regan has issued a statement following the news of further threats on Neil Lennon’s life.

Live bombs addressed to the Celtic manager, Paul McBride and MSP Trisha Godman have heightened concerns safety concerns for the individuals involved.

In his statement Regan vows to rid Scottish football of this unwanted poison.

Regan’s statement on the SFA website read: “The Scottish FA is horrified and saddened by the news that the Celtic manager, Neil Lennon, has been subjected to another – reportedly ‘viable’ – threat along with two other prominent supporters of the club.

“It is hoped that swift action by Strathclyde Police will succeed in capturing the perpetrators of these cowardly acts and bring the full weight of justice down on them.

“Scottish football should be a safe and entertaining environment for players, coaches and supporters. It must not be used as a platform for religious intolerance or hatred.

“On a personal note, as a relative newcomer to this country, I find this recent situation both depressing and deplorable. With the support of the police, the Scottish Government and our other league bodies, it is our intention to help rid Scottish football of this unwanted poison which seems to be prevalent in society.”

I know that you are a newcomer Mr. Regan, but perhaps you can ask your association die hards why it has taken UEFA´s intervention to do something about Rangers´ vile supporters and their songs of hate and evil directed at Catholics and particularly Irish Catholics.

There was easy hanging fruit, but the SFA chose to do nothing.

Your association is part of the problem, not the solution. Tragic, but true,

To rid Scottish football of this poison, all you have to do is get Lloyds TSB to call in their debt!

Nice generalisation there regan! we all know only one team in “Scottish football” is to blame here.

Maybe if this association had came out and listened to Celtic this would not be as serious,

Are they not the one that let Sally off with his remarks to Neil, Mr Peat has not helped for what he said this tedious questioning of our rules,

This has turned into a national disgrace, do these people want a Belfast Celtic?

The police are a joke the Scottish Parliment not much better, ask your candidate what his/her plan is to cure it
